Day 2...not much more progress.
First, I made sure the engine and trans said their goodbyes.
Then I figured the subframe needed to be cleaned since it had a destroyed hydraulic mount.
While that was drying, I decided to take care of some rust bubbles in the D/S front fender area. I had been scraping these and tapping them with a hammer every time I had the wheel off. I figured now would be perfect time to fix them correctly.
Wait a damn second! Those are rust bubbles! Those a giant ****ing holes in my car! I was highly discouraged at this point, contemplated cancelling the build, and then took a 45 minute drive to my parts car. Upon inspection, my other 97 GT was even worse off than this, so I decided I'll just have to cut it out and rebuild it instead of cancelling the build. Just going to delay the completion for a bit.
So, I then did some fun stuff. I mocked up the engine and trans to see how the bracket would need to be fabricated.
After looking at the pictures, I decided my engine looked like a bag of smashed assholes, so I painted the block before the engine build taking place tomorrow.
And while I was painting things, I took care of the valve covers, too.
So, that was today's fun. Tomorrow, engine build and install shifter and clutch master cylinder. I may start some of the interior wiring as well for the clutch pedal position switch and the cruise switch, so I can get the interior back together,
