    STREEEEEEEETCH!!!!

Love the wheels, but you need 245s something fierce!

Still. Can't wait to see them on.

225s are usually like just under 9" wide, what's the issue here?

    LIES ! ! ! ^^^

If that were the case, the tire would go to the edge and drop straight down to the wheel, or almost straight to the wheel. Not protrude out at a 30* angle because its 1/2" short on either side. I know its not as bad as some have done. I also know you CAN truly stretch a 225 onto a 10" wheel, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

    Specs for the tires are:
Overall Width: 8.90" Section Width: 225
Load Range: Extra Load Aspect Ratio: 40
    UTQG: 360/A/A Rim Diameter: 18
Measuring Rim Width: 8" Load Index: 82
Max Load: 1389 lbs @ 50 psi Speed Index: V
    Sidewall: Blackwall Overall Diameter: 25.1"
    Rim Width Range: 7.50" - 9.00" Tread Depth: 10.00/32"
Weight: 22 lbs Part Brand: Toyo
Manufacturer Part Number: 195450 Car Type: Passenger/Performance

Its measuring rim width is 8" so on a 8.75" wide rim its pushing the limits of a 9" rim for a proper fit. It works, just stretched. A 245 would have been a better fit. Just sayin.

...that is barely even a stretch. i had the same stretch on all of my wheels on my car before the set i have now. never once an issue and i drive my car hard.

and now with the 245s on an 18x8.5 +35mm wheel i rub all the time because im not running more than stock camber and i dont want to pull my fenders. he is doing it right. everyone that says otherwise is incorrect. even that chart says it fits a 9" wide wheel. look at what the tire chart says: overall width 8.9".

    who's a liar?

It says over-all width 8.9" yes. Wont argue.

Measured rim width (which is what you want for that perfect fix) is 8". This is why it flares OUTWARD and tapers out to the rim. It it was straight up and down, like the tire is designed, it wouldn't fit, but rubber flexes so it works.

I also said it is not as stretched as some I have seen. You can make a 225 fit on a 10" rim if you really push its limits (seen it done, was stupid).

It works, not saying it won't. I think he should have went with a 245 because it would fit the wheel better, IMO. If you have to have more than stock camber, you ARE doing it wrong. Tires are flat, if they were suppose to be angled, they would be made that way, especially on directionals. If you have to pull your fenders its because you need a better offset, with the proper offset you would only need to roll the fenders and you would be able to tuck.

Camber is a simple way to fix a stupid mistake and only results in a ghetto look, and premature wear on tires. If you think I am wrong on this, you are incorrect.

Look at all super-car manufacturers. Solid suspension, low flush look, wide tires, very minute camber adjustment, not crazy angled to fit the tires so they don't rub. Proper specs and research will get you a perfect fit without stupid camber adjustments.

ive seen lots of 215/40/18s on 18x10 wheels. not my thing, but people do it all day.

camber is a good way to introduce another world of handling into a dreary 'stock alignment' car. it doesnt really wear tires so long as your tow is set at 0.00". i ran -2.5* (double stock camber or so) and didn't wear the tires any more than usual. this was over like 8 months. proper specs were meant to help with tire wear. they are a basic 'compromise' between wear and handling. with NO camber you best bet the car would handle terribly.

either way, everyone has their own opinions and i like the direction the OP took.

Dammit guys, I'm really disappointed. My math was wrong on the tires and they're too short and it looks gay. Instead of 225/40 I need 225/50 because with the stretch these are a little over an inch shorter and the coils just can't make up that much difference. But at least I got to see the wheels on the car and I really like them. Oh well, I'm taking them back off for a few days to see if I could possibly exchange the tires or figure something out.

This is with the coils with a little left. But maxed out the car is pretty much sitting on the bump stops

    height difference

Damn that sucks, for future knowledge there are tire size calculators online. The wheels do look great though.

This is what Bio wanted me to do, this a way to get your car lower. But then you create more wheel gap. (see bio, the dilemma, I know your bagging, but it would be nice to have proper coilovers damn it)

Sorry man, Pull the tires and sell them.

I know Dave, but I never actually figured out what size I would pick.

I am also in the swap tires boat. :/

thats what i was worried about. if you go from ~26.5'' tall tire to a ~25'' tall tire, youre 0.75'' lower but you gain 0.75'' more wheel gap. post pics of how much poke you even have. im really starting to think 19's would be better to stance a gp.

I'm thinking my next set of tires will be 225's instead of my 245's. I like the stretched look, I've been wanting to "stance" my GP for awhile, but can't afford the cost of Coilovers. Also I need to redo my downpipe before i go any lower. Speed Daddy headers downpipe fails. Hard.

Well I'm keeping these tires, I love the way my car looks now. But I want to go lower. So I may try and tuck them alittle more, I need to talk to Bio about all the alignment things. I know jack shiit when it comes to alignments. I just need to get that downpipe redesigned.

^^ camber. youre gonna need more negative camber if youre planning to go low. idk how much room you got anyways.
