The real killer is people who don't have the mains line bored.
That basically kills the rebuilds that you hear of.
My rebuild lasted nearly what...20~k?
Reptile's was just as close.
Good times.
My block wasnt line bored. I think the rebuild killer is people not knowing how to correctly rebuild an engine. If you dont know what the **** your doing but you think you do, then any engine...L67 or otherwise will fail immediately. There is 0% room for error when assembling. You mess up one tiny step it wipes out the whole project. I had a customer who built his own mitsu 4g63 and wanted me to look it over because he thought "the lifters are ticking". When I looked in the car the oil press. gauge was at 0 and the light was on and it had a death rattle in the bottom end. I asked him where he got the torque specs for the mains and rods and he said at first he tightened them with a breaker bar but the crank wouldnt turn so he loosened them all a half a turn.... You have to have SOME general repair knowledge and decent common sense.
So I changed my mind on spending money on interior and stereo junk. Picked up a aeroforce, N*/LQ4, Gen V/l32 LIM, full size intercooler, 2.8 & 2.7 pulley instead. Need to make some more $$$ yet this winter to pick up a bunch more stuff like tires for my 17's a fmhe and ic pump, a new wideband sensor and the big one... a input shaft.
Lookin awesome. Wish I could swap in a GEN V, gots no monies.
Damn bro, i dont know much about cars but they way your are with your car, i wish i could be with mine, i have so many needs with my car then wants. The only good thing in my car is the system, gots me a nice little system.
But from everything you've done to yours, id rather much be happy with getting my damn red door painted because im tired of rolling the christmas colors year round.
Nice car, you really done a number on it. Gotta be proud.
Intense 300M Input shaft. Thank you Dave from Triple Edge Performance
Dat, is a small pulley on the blower.
And...
I like it.
Hopefully there's not a rod sticking out of the side of the block by may....havent really done anything that hasn't been done 100 times just trying to keep it clean and reliable. There was a comment somewhere on one of my pictures about "pie plate pulley", this should take care of that.
Great looking car man your really not that far from me up by frankenmuth, I hope to say you at lapeer sometime it's a great drag way
Ugh...not a big fan of Lapeer honestly. The back half is pot holes and broken concrete, not fun coming through at 110 with the rear suspension cabled. They dont know what to do when a fwd pulls up on slicks so they won't let me pull through the water to warm them up and I don't think I've ever seen them prep the track...ever. I'll be at Norwalk at least twice this year and probably make the haul to 131 at least once. Other than that its mid mich. or ubly for me!
You have my name.. Any my car lol. But mine is a 98 red coupe. From one Anthony Smith to another, Sweet car.
