That dash bezel is pretty slick! I just have one question. Do you hate the tan interior as much as I do? LOL

What's next for the car? It appears to be very well taken care of.

YES!!!!! I would much rather have black leather. i got the dash bezel for 20 bucks on ebay. my car would of gone to the junk yard when i got it it would start barley rolled. my grandfather gave me the car and he beat the hell out of it it took about 2500 to fix the mechanical peices and it needed a paint job which my step dad painted it at his shop but i wash my car once a week wax it it evrey 2 months and vaccum it once a month i really take care of it and it runs phenomenal. its a great car and i love ive put so much work and money into the car. the next thing i want is black interior or a new tan dash with new front seats or either 3.4 setup but i would like to have alot of things for my car like a sd hood and sd front lip[ and sd spoiler and rims and lowered springs and lots of stuff.ive got pics of my car after i did the body work and prepped it for paint.

I currently have the selector on my actual shifter... well not on my shifter, so i would have to guess if mine were covered. -_-

    I realized I dun goofed.

I meant I have taken the shift selector next to my shifter OFF, so right now there is just a hole with a bulb. That's what I meant.

Anyone else notice his GTP doesn't have a HUD? I would be concerned if it's an original GTP. I know there were very few GTP's that did not have HUD but if you didn't have a HUD you shouldn't have leather interior either

If you want to enhance the interior one thing I am seriously considering doing is adding bucket seats in the rear. It looks killer on a GP and it would be a nice compliament to the rest of your car. The black interior would be a nice upgrade though. Keep the pics and updates coming...

You can't find GTP's with catfish bumper or no spoiler.

In 1997 and 1997 only the GT, not the GTP were offered with the spoiler as an option (there are a few around here without one). All GTs had alloy wheels and GT bumpers (hence them being called GT bumpers...), and all GTPs had them therefore as well.

I don't feel like wasting the time to provide the proof, but if I must I will.

A little common sense for starts might help: The only reason to upgrade from an SE to a GT was that the GT came with standard 3800 and standard ground effects package (GT front and rear bumpers, and side skirts). SE's didn't have an option for ground effects, only for spoilers (and around 2000 the spoiler and GT bumper also became standard on the SE). The SE had the OPTION for a 3800, but if you wanted to ground effects you had to get a GT, therefore offering a GT much less a GTP without ground effects or alloy wheels or a spoiler was non-existent.

As I said, every GTP came standard with alloys, ground effects, and spoiler. In 1998 so did all GTs as well. HUD and leather in GTPs were usually there case, but again optional.

There technically is no such thing as a 97 GTP they were all GT's.

At least my window sticker says that.

^ Technically also true. The GTP in 97 and I believe 98 was simply a performance package, and after that became a full fledged trim level. But that package in 97/98 included standard spoiler and L67 plus badges.
