Bio:
I am a 40 yr old gearhead thats been a Pontiac guy since I was about 7 yrs old... Yep, Smokey and the Bandit, and later KnightRider did it for me...
So for the longest time I was into Trans Ams pretty much exclusively. And since the age of 25 Ive owned one or two GTA Trans Ams.
Other Pontiacs Ive owned have included a 1988 Grand Am SE, 2003 Sunfire GT M5, 1998 GTP Sedan, and a 1997 GTP Coupe (both were black).
As for my 2004 GTP, Ive owned it since December 2010 (I mentioned 2009 in another post, that was incorrect).
It was for sale at the other end of the Province (6 hrs from me) by a member of the OQCGP (Ontario Quebec Club Grand Prix). So that's where I first laid eyes on it... He wasnt an active member, so he simply posted pics of it in the classifieds when he was selling it. And it was love at first sight... It came already lowered, with the 20 inch MSR's (20x8's, Super Silver 093's, 5x115, with a plus 40 offfset). Other than that the car was bone stock.
Unfortunately, by the time I decided I needed to replace my 1998 (the original "Mr.Angry.GTP") bc of high miles and a slipping tranny, he had already traded it in on a new Dodge Ram to a Chrsyler dealer out in the boonies (about 2.5 hrs past Toronto on the way to Ottawa).
Not knowing this, and luckily for me, I came across the car again online a couple weeks later on autotrader.ca and decided to contact the dealer to arrange a test drive. I even left a deposit over the phone so it wouldnt sell to another before I got there.
To make a long story short, 2 trips and a week later the car was mine. The guy that traded it in even brought me the original Comp G WS6 wheels and some rubber for cheap which I really appreciated.
So here is the car as I bought it on the lot:
(and there I have to end my car's story for now as my webhost (motortopia.com) is down so I am unable to link over some pics)
Although here is a video of the car two days after I got it (December 2010) when I swapped out the 20's in favor of my fat fives with Pirellis that I used on it last winter:
