The stock seats are heavy. Looking at replacing them with either of these two reclining seats or the fixed position on the bottom. Won't have the funds until midsummer though.

Edit: Won't let me hotlink the pics.
I think it is the smart to pay off the outstanding bills first. Less debt means more money for projects. I like the detailed build process/pics. Keep up the good work.

paying off debt is better then money in the bank, smart choice. i only drive a high 13 sec GTP but i have zero debt so im rich in my own ways..couple questions for ya if i may:

these are 14.5-15.5 sec cars stock correct?
what mods help these cars the most? i mostly see ppl swapping the upper intake manifold first?
how are the rearend on these cars and how much abuse can they handle before doing one wheel peel?
i think this thread would benefit well if basic facts about the cars weight, specs, available aftermarket support and future track times were established, just my 2 cents ofcourse
def interested in this build and will follow it for sure
anyone can buy a 50k sports car..ppl who build from the bottom up are the ones to admire, good job!

Thanks. The massive number of pics I post are to help me along the way as well.

Agreed. It's my old man's trailer. I don't like it at all. The permanent "stake" sides suck. Free though so what can I say?

Thanks. Appreciate the interest. I try to make it interesting for my Grand Prix peers.

-Low to mid 14's stock (w/good driver).

-Heads and cam help a lot. The E7 heads are crap. Block is only good for roughly 450-500rwhp. Turbo is definitely the way to go IMO.

-The Ford 8.8 is really strong. Lots of cars in the 8's on them. Usually people will weld the axle tubes. They come w/28 spline axles so most people that make a decent amount of power will upgrade to 31 spline axles and respective posi/locker/spool unit.

If I get a bit of free time I will compile a small facts list on these. Must be something to them. Chevy guys love them as much as the Ford guys.

awesome..yeah i can understand the massive aftermarket support for the 5.0 and its ability to pull good times.

ive just raced them at New England Dragway and even with ported heads/headers/gears/small cam they still run low 14's and since have been turned off by them, perhaps they had street tires? idk? hope you get this car going good

Nice build, you have done way more to this Fox than I did to mine. Kinda funny I traded my Fox for a GP and you traded your GP for a Fox (if I got this right). I see you got the FRPP headers for those GT40P's, good choice. Are you going with OR H or OR X?
Goldie 98 Topaz Gold GTP (retired)/ Shadow 06 GTO 6.0 Phantom Black Metallic- traded in. Now cruising a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4x4 with the always fun 6.0L

I've never actually owned a GP, just trolling along. The car already has O/R H and some series 40 Flow's. I'm just going to keep the "nostalgia" look and sound on this for a while.

Ok. Picked the car up a few hours ago. Took some more pics of stuff I've already posted.

    Tied to body.

Upper torque boxes tied into the cage

Rear bars through the speaker holes. Because racecar?.... LOL

    Harness tab

Quarter panels have been rolled. Plus the Torque boxes have been fully welded to the body. Should be good to go.
