I spent around a month looking for another car to get for the household since our 95 GMC Jimmy has tranny problems (No 2nd/OD) and if I fix it then I have nothing to drive while I do so. I had a nice budget, went around local dealers and found a nice Black STI that I liked, test drove it and it was ok. Another a few miles away had a 03 Cobra that I fell in love with. I went home ready to go pick it up the next morning. Well that day I spent all day thinking about what to do. Picking up either of these cars would mean paying it off for half of the year and putting my other project on hold until so. I then said to myself that I only need a car to get me to point A to point B and not another money pit. I skipped on the STI/Cobra. I was also looking into another F-Body. Thirdgen to be specific. I am a big Thirdgen F-body nut. I have owned 3 so far those being a 92 Camaro RS 25th Ed Z03 Polo Green/Gold Heritage stripes, 88 Formula 2.8/T5 White, and my current 1986 Firebird Base LT1 Swap project. I was looking to add a 88-90 IROC but nothing came up and I gave up the search. My father told me a friend of his sold his 00 GTP. I remembered the car. It was very nice, fully loaded, 3.8 Supercharged, well maintained and looked pretty good. He sold it to another friend that basically got i t for his ex-wife (Yea I said wut too). I told my dad to call him and tell him if the wife doesn't want it that I will buy it off him before he tittles it. He came over and pretty much told me that she wants to keep it. Fast forward to the next day and I get a phone call. An hour later I have this in my yard... 2000 GTP. 133k. 2 owners (3 now). Leather, Sunroof, Heated Seats, Hud, CD Player. Pretty much fully loaded from what I see. I just loved the car. Was very roomy and has enough kick to please me for a daily. I plated it and insured it the same day and was off driving. I have had it for about 3 weeks and have already almost put 3k miles on it just from driving it around to downtown and to and from work. First thing I did was slap on spare cone filter I had laying around in the garage. 4' seemed to fit perfectly once tightened. That gave me a good Supercharger wine and brought a instant smile to my face first time driving it with it. Then I debaged it. I removed 2 diff dealer emblems from the rear as well as the Grand Prix. As well as the GTP emblem from the doors.
