Got the ride tinted today and damn what a change. It's nice and dark, 5% on the rear windows and 30% on the front two. I also forgot how much cooler the temp is inside the cabin with tinted windows.
The work was done by Aloha Tint (free plug) here in Copperas Cove, TX. After tax the total was $148, can't complain another shop here quoted me $160 cause my car is W-Body. Really does my car being a w-body have to do on tint price? Oh well f**k em. I trust the shop I went with, they are great and have been in Copperas Cove for a while.
Widows so dark ya need a flashlight to see me HAHA
Looks great. I think you should get some chrome torque starts for rims, I think they would look better then those monte rims even thoe those monte rims do look better then the snowflakes. Just my opinion either way nice ride!
Thanks, but finding stock rims on CL close by for these cars is near to impossible. Once a year maybe do GP rims pop up and they are almost always the silver plain 5 stars without tires and the owners want $300 or more for them. The last time I saw chrome torque stars on CL was more than 7 months ago. I just happened upon those monte rims and only had to replace two of the 4 tires. Plus once they get powder coated black it should look way better.
FYI, I had a buddy do my tint, but he said normally they charge more for our type of cars. At least 04+ due to the sizes of the windows. That is probably why they quoted you more as well.
That is true, also have been thinking about it. The other shop that I got the high price quote from is NEW to the area. They have a real nice looking shop, they charge so much (just guessing) due to high overhead cost for their shop. I try to use local business when I can. Although it's hard to beat the prices at Walmart. just sayin...
It's funny that you ask that. Yes there is a pick and pull near by. Before I got this GTP, but after I got rid of my 97 GT I had a mustang and every time I went to the yard I noticed sets of silver and chrome torque stars. Now about 4 months ago the yard did a face lift and all those torque stars are no longer laying around. Kinda bummed, oh well one day I will find some rims that are great like some pre-gens. Until then the montes will do just fine. Thanks for the ideas though.
You all got lucky, getting tint done here in Michigan cost me $200 but that included just the rear window old tint removal
Well there are 2 main tint shops within 3 miles of me and about 15 tint shops 10 miles from me. So with all the competition out there the shops have to do their best to keep in business, which means lower prices for the customer. I bet if you search around you can find a shop willing to do tint for less than $200. Tell you what I'm glad that I got it done with summer not to far away. Oh and I highly suggest REMOTE START. Today I tested out setting my AC before starting with the remote and after 10 minutes went outside to a nice cold car.
I might catch hell for this, but f**k it. I like doing things for cheap. So I wanted some headlight bulbs with a blue like light output. I went on ebay cause you can find stuff dirt cheap with free shipping. I found some headlight bulbs that were blue and CHEAP $12 bucks for the pair with free shipping. Little story though, I went to a speed shop outside of post that had the same bulbs for $39, I thought F**K that and remembered ebay. The light output is what I wanted and it's funny that $12 bulbs would take care of my needs. The PO told me they put in sylvania ultra stars, holy crap they didn't lie go figure. So if these bulbs screw up I have some nice expensive non blue light bulbs to put back in. Ok enough bullsh1t have some pics
Old bulbs

New Bulbs Cheap A** Ebay
New bulbs, hard to tell from pic, but in person the light and headlight housing are blue

It's been a long week and I needed a WIN for once. Well that win was provided to me from a fellow forum member who fixed my driver information center. About 2 weeks ago all the bulbs on my DIC burned out. I looked on the net for a replacement, but did not want to pay $90 plus, then I was surfing GPF and saw this http://www.grandprixforums.net/led-i...der-59656.html
So after a few PM's I sent my "DIC in a box" to him. He got it today and replaced the bulbs with blue LED's. From the pic he sent I can tell that I am very happy with his work. There was no way to type this post up without it sounding so dirty hahahaha. The jokes never end for this part. Thanks to triebenbach07 . Ok all puns aside here is my LED DIC.
