The flexplate is broken?
2 words: debadge brotato.
definitely the dealer sticker, i just don't exactly know how to take it off safely.
and probably not debadging. i like showing off what i have..
*update* finished the LIM job today at 1am lol. i broke it down in between two nights. it went pretty smooth over all. once i looked at it everything made sense, and if it didn't i just played with it until it did. cranked it up tonight and let it run a good 10 minutes, no leaking no smoking runs smooth as silk. so hopefully everything is good to go.
just got to get on that flex now.
UPDATE:
i had my flex plate replaced, which worked out great. the cracks were there and it stopped the noise. viola.
however, to make a long story short, when the half shaft was pulled from the driver side (to drop subframe) some needle bearing apparently broke and is causing the front end to shemy. sooo anyways, i was very upset about that today. my mechanic/friend is going to try to get the bearings from a wholesale place around here and try to do it while it's in the car. worst case scenario, it has to go to tranny shop. soo we'll see how it goes.
kinda bummed out
WOOT...sounds like my car...a money pit
yes, it has turned into a money pit. but i got the prix back this morning, he worked on it all night. he had to replace the driver side axle (NONE have been replaced on it) and he managed to get the bearing inside the tranny out and get another one in there with it in the car, so we got lucky there.
it has fixed over half the problem, still got a little shakey shakey to it upon acceleration, so it needs the other half shaft replaced which im gonna get done in a week or two.
but that's just an update. i am driving it now and everything so that's good. but it still haz teh problems lol. i do not see GM vehicles in my future any more.
i told you not to buy a blue car...
So after the flex plate was replaced, I ran into problems with the front end shaking. Turned out that once the axles were disturbed, they somehow fvcked up. Needless to say, this was the driver side axle all worn down and what not..
And this was the flex plate that you can clearly see cracked in two places. So yay GPF for diagnosing correctly.
We had to put some kind of bearing in the tranny where the shaft goes in, and a new driver shaft, and tomorrow it's getting a passenger shaft to fix all the shaking. Lets hope...
Those shafts get a wear pattern and they don't like moving. When I lowered my car it felt like the tires were square.
Here I am two halfshafts later.
