I figured I'd give a quick history on my Monte. In the beginning I ran the Monte at the drag strip to see what it would do bone stock. It ran a best time of 15.7, so I had a lot of work to do, but it was a good start.
I did a whole bunch of bolt ons and a good tune from ZZP and ended up running a 14.6@94mph way back in August 2006.
Then in April of 2008 I had some TOG's installed and ran a 14.4@95mph. The Monte was still NA, and I was pretty pleased with it, but I wanted more.
In April of 2009 I installed some cometic head gaskets (.045") and tried again in the summer to beat my 14.4 1/4, but I couldn't ever do it for some odd reason.
Went to ZZP's dyno in October of 2009 and ended up putting down 222whp NA. Not too bad, but I still wanted more again, lol.
Then in Februaryish of 2010, the Novi 1000 went in and had it dyno tuned at ZZP again. With crappy L67 injectors and a stock fuel pump the Monte ended up making 325whp when we stopped the dyno at 5500rpm even though it's programmed to go to 6500rpm, but it was running really lean on the L67 injectors and the stock fuel pump.
Today, I went back to ZZP to see if a set of 42.5# injectors would cure the lean problem. They helped, but I still need to install a better fuel pump. Ended up making 348whp though (video: YouTube - 1998 Monte Carlo procharged 3800 update 2).
