It would appear you guys really wanna know where I got the gauges lol.

Way back when I ordered them they were only for 3rd and 4th gen fbodys and 04-06 GTO's. At this time he had a guy(McNord) do the artwork and then he sent the artwork to another company to be done. Because of this all that was available was group purchases.

I was talkin with Mark(the owner of the of the company) about having a GP done for the 97-03's GP's....BUT Mark sold his apart complex or whatever and now does all his gauges in house. Therefore, there are no more GP's I believe and you can have them done whenver you want....AND...he'll do them for ANY car now.

These are very high quality IMO.....they're even used by GM in the new Dale Earnheardt Intimidator 5th Gen Camaros.

So I got a(nother) motor. It's out of a 97 GTP that was wrecked. It had 41K on it and damn that car had to of been fubard. They just cut the whole front of the car off and I got the whole cradle with the motor/trans...BUT unfortunately the wreck was bad enough that it broke the trans case...sad face.

So here it is before I dug into it.

    Front cover...

    Alternator...

    Valvecover...

    A/C Compressor...

    Coil packs/ICM...

Blower...when I first saw this it was one of those pause in disbelief moments...then I grabbed the bolt and it thread perfectly fine and tightens down perfectly fine so it's not biggie...

    Trans case...

And heres why I don't like dex-cool...this motor had 41K on it and the coolant looks like this. Yes the system was exposed to air but who really cares. Just because the system is exposed to air it shouldn't turn into an acid lookin sludge...

    Engine cradle...

And at the end of the night I ended up with this...

Some of you may be wondering what my plans are. For right now the whole motor is getting torn down and hot tanked and the balance shaft deleted. I'll get all new bearings and rebuild it. I'm swapping the Camaro top end back on just to get the car running. I'm throwing in my L36 pistons because an 8.5 compression N/A car would be epicly slow.

Later on down the road i'm going to topswap again and put the blower back on. Dave at TEP plans on doing a batch of blower that will fit in Fbodys so I plan on getting one from him.

Well here is my first real legitimate update since Jan 21st.

Worked on the motor a bit more. Got the rockers and pushrods out. Then got the heads off. I attempted to get the balancer off but that was just a total fail. Really wish I could've got it off so I could get the front cover and the timing chain and all that crap off.

is the bolt already out? If not, put a torch on it, and get a big ass breaker-bar with an extension.

If the bolt is already out, try using a deadblow hammer and hitting it square in the center of the crank pulley to shock it loose.

Yes the bolt is out. I'll try taking the 3 pound hammer to it. If I **** up the balancer who cares. I don't need it

My guess is the crank-key is frozen to the pulley, which a few good whacks should fix.

If worse comes to worse then you may have to heat up the pulley with a torch to get it to loosen some.
