Alright got a lot of MISC bolts i was missing from the Junkyard today.
The missing Radiator Support Brackets
Vac Line Harness from the Dealership
Valvecover grommets from the parts store.
Still waiting on 2 packages
-Bills carepackage
-Rotors from Advanced Brake Labs.
Doing the Intercooler/HME/Pump install tommorrow
Photos once complete.
i would have to think the hammer is for tapping the form of whatever your making the gasket for, into the gasket material so you can cut it out.
when i was a roofer, when doing vent pipes, commercial torch single ply stuff, to cover the bottom of the pipe flashing i would cut a mat, find center lay it over the pipe and smack with a hammer over the pipe, this left a nice out line, cut it out, nice snug fit every time.
It's a trick a buddy showed me when I was a kid, his father showed him etc etc. See before we had a billion parts stores, you would often have to make a gasket. So the founding fathers figure out...that if you lay a roll of gasket paper on something hard with a sharpish edge and use the round side of a ball peen hammer to tap the gasket where the edge is located, it'll actually cut you the perfect gasket. Very cool thing that works well.
Bills Carepackage just arrived, as well as the GXP rotors.
Installing that tomorrow.
Todays progress
got the Radiator support back on, clamshells and dogbones/valve covers on and the brackets buddy was sick as **** so we didnt do the intercooler today
I do spot 3 severe things wrong with that photo, and they are red.
I ran them too. When I was selling the parts off my car, I wouldn't even list them because of their failure rate.
