1982 Chevy S-10 with 6.0 liter LQ4. custom cam with 226i / 231e .604 / .604 112 +2 and 317 heads shaved for an extra half point of compression. Long tube headers were a pain to get fit, flowtech long tube headers 11557 409 stainless steel 3" collector 1.75" primary. dual 3 inch exhaust with flowmaster 50 mufflers.

Eaton M90 gen 5 with the silencer ports welded shut. I cut the inlet off pretty short so it would fit in my S10 and then ported it until I ran out of patience. I had a friend weld a 4 inch tube to the blower which had a 90 degree angle. the single 90 degree tube wasn't enough angle so I had another 45 degree angle tube welded and then I used a V-band for the throttle body, which is a 90mm. I used 4 inch tubing for the inlet, 4 inch tubing for the LS7 maf housing and a 4 inch air filter. it's made 4.5lbs of boost so far but I've been having belt slip often. The M90 is bolted to the engine via an adapter plate made by Tom Demeuse who also makes Ford Mustang M122 adapter plates. under the adapter plate is a Holley Lo ram manifold. I plumbed the map sensor, a boost gauge sensor and a temperature sensor into the lo ram manifold. so far I haven't seen the post blower temperature go above 161. I have an ATI harmonic balancer, which has been pinned.

prior to the M90, I had a TBSS intake manifold with aftermarket fuel rails and fuel pressure regulator made by Fasster on ebay. I like buying stuff from him because he is located in the next state over so shipping is faster. I am running 50lb flex fuel injectors. best fuel injector for the price. the previous owner installed a fuel cell in the bed. I wanted to move it under the bed but it won't fit. it holds 10 gallons. I have 6AN fuel lines and a flex fuel sensor. I also have ATF (All the Fuel) filters. I bought them from a local guy. I have an AEM 400LPH fuel pump. I'm using the OEM 0411 computer. I have a tuner who is located in Texas and his name is James Brewer. he dialed the tune in with an AEM wideband.

The LS engine is mated to a TH350 that has been converted to full manual shift and has a 3000ish torque converter. the transmission has a standalone cooler and is a Tru-Cool 40k. I'm using a G-Force trans crossmember because it has channels that give clearance for the dual exhaust. the previous owner installed a driveshaft loop. the previous owner also installed an 8.5" rear end from a 2000 4x4 S-10. When I bought the truck he included a pair of 1985ish Corvette 16x8.5 inch wheels with Toyo Proxes TQ 275/45/R16 tires. I drive around on Toyo R888 tires in 255/50/R16's on the back and 14 inch wheels on the front. the front tires rub on the long tube header.

I did the 2000 Blazer brake upgrade on the front end. I moved the battery to the bed, I replaced the mechanical power steering pump with an electric power steering pump from a Volvo S40. I installed a quick ratio gear box that came in a 1989 Camaro Z-28. I replaced the stamped steel radiator core support with a tubular aluminum core support made by Jesse Lee from Deviance Fabrication. I have a dual radiator overflow and oil catch can made by Colt at Snail Fabrication.

the fastest I've gone at the closest 1/8th mile is 8.91.

This is pretty cool. Something a little different. Be neat to see it make a pass at the track.

last year it ran an 8.91 in the 1/8th mile. I took it to the dragstrip on Saturday and it was slower. the supercharger belt is slipping.

I don't know why the images rotate when I upload them. I bought a belt wrap kit from smoothflow pulleys aka Nathan Herbst. as it would turn out, the 3.8 liter engine has different spacing than an LS engine so the pulley that is missing wouldn't work. I took it off and sent it back and now I'm waiting on a different pulley with the right offset. I hated the job I did on the battery movement so I bought some good cable and redid it and also added an extra battery. I wanted to add some weight to the back and also have a little more power for starts and for the increased load from the electric power steering pump. the new belt wrap pulley is predicted to be here Saturday. I ran out of E85 so I'm running it on 91.

I don't know why but when I filled the tank with 91 octane it had a bunch of backfires. I could also smell hot oil. the oil change is like 100 miles old and the oil level is correct. I don't know why.

the supercharger belt is tracking straight on all the pullies now and oh boy is it fun to drive. the front brakes aren't strong enough to hold the back tires from moving forward.

I think I broke the transmission in the S10. I went full throttle and didn't shift fast enough so it hit the rev limiter and bounced there at 7200 and then when I did shift it nothing happened and I just coasted to a stop. no forward gears but it will move in reverse. TH350

I heard the engine making the sound it normally makes when I don't shift fast enough and the rev limiter is bouncing the rpms up and down. it's a stock TH350 with a full manual shift kit and a 3000 stall torque converter. the previous owner put the shift kit in and bought the torque converter so I'm not sure of any other details.

I have a 4L80e from a 1998 Silverado that had a 5.7. I bought a rebuild kit from Jakes Performance. it's been sitting in my garage for a while. so I'll have the 4L80 built, buy a torque converter for it, buy a new transmission crossmember and then install the 4L80.

Man, you could probably have the TH350 out, fixed, and back in within a week or two. Then you could still drive the truck while you're building the 80.

They're not very complex. Buy an overhaul kit just so you have all the gaskets and seals. Pull it apart and ebay the broken bits.

I have no doubt that you are right.

I'm sending the 4L80e torque converter to the place i'm buying a new converter from. they are going to give me a credit towards the new unit even though I'm not going to use that core. it's a place in South Carolina called Atlantic Coast Converters. I think I'm getting a 9 inch converter and like a 4,000 stall.

TH350 is out of the truck. we had to remove the long tube headers to get it out, so I ordered some header wrap. I also noticed an exhaust leak on the passenger side. I have the good reusable header gasket so maybe the bolt wasn't tight. my guy is going to take the TH350 apart and see if it's a cheap fix. maybe I'll just fix it anyway and then sell it. seems like it wouldn't be too hard to sell with a 3k stall converter. it surprised me to find out the 4L80e torque converter weighed 68lbs in the box ready to ship, and kudos to pirateship dot com for getting me a shipping label that wasn't obscenely expensive. ended up costing 84 dollars to send with UPS.

    Yep, it's broken.

We started building the 4L80e I need Direct drum piston seals. We don't have a bonded piston therefore we don't have the proper spring retainer for the piston springs so we need the seals for the old style piston aluminum. Hopefully Jakes Performance has the right seals.
