did you ohm the chip and buy the right key via the ohm. how i did mine.
you do the learn yet? old key in to run, once the dummy lights go out take the key out and put the new key in real fast. lesss then 5 seconds. and that should learn it.

Got a lot done today. The minivan through a P01742 (TCC Solenoid/circuit stuck on) yesterday. At 230k miles I was concerned. Was it a fluke, or is the torque converter clutch coming apart... It was due for service anyway so I dropped the pan and was relieved to see the magnet covered in the normal gray sludge. No Woolly Willy. I'm calling the fault a fluke. Popped a new filter in and topped off the fluid. Good to go. I can still sell it with a clean conscious. It's high mileage, for sure, but it's not a time bomb. Thanks again to Bill for the large storage bin catch pan idea. Didn't spill a drop. Every time I do a trans service I'll think of you Bill.
Then I played with the Regal. The cut key works straight out of the box. Car fired right up! Got the pod painted too. That SEM medium gray is a good match. Thanks Scotty.

I love this car! I don't want to give it to my wife. Put insurance on it the other day. Been driving it consistently since. It is officially on the road.
Change of plans on the gauge. Just going to do a single pod for the Aeroforce until I get the WB installed. Then I'll do the pillar pod with Vac/Boost, WB and Aeroforce. Of course that plan is on hold until I get the gauge back. Did the full install including the key on 12v from the power drop and fully hidden wiring. Plugged everything in, hit the key and the gauge froze on the first screen. Killed the dash too. Contacted support and they said it had to come back. Sigh.
I got new tires for it in the meantime. I didn't realize how old the "old" ones were. Date code was from some time in '09. Still plenty of tread left, but fully dry rotted. Another testament to how little this car got driven previously. $550 for 4 new Coopers and a 4 wheel alignment.

damn you stole them tires. id still be paying for a alignment after the 550 tire cost.
got to say, i miss mine a little bit still. but in the end, the ss is far superior to it in every way. dropping it off in the morning to get the pro charger, ati under drive 8 rib balancer, trans cooler installed and retune. hope to have it back next week.
now do i get the quiet, or loud bbv? im thinking loud.

Dang. I thought that was expensive. I wanted the Uniroyal Tiger Paws but they only had 3 in stock. (?) After a little pushing, they gave me the Coopers for the Uniroyal price. I'm not in love with them. The sidewalls seem a little "busy." We'll see how they wear.

Oh, 100% this is not the nicest vehicle ever, but when I consider what I paid and how old it is I couldn't be happier. Someday, after the kids are grown, I will have nice things. Today is not that day. LOL

I want to know what this thing runs in the quarter mile!

LOUD! Your car isn't sleeping on anyone anyway, so you might as well get that woosh noise.
Being a transmission guy, I have to walk the walk. Can't just talk the talk. This should fit the bill:
I plan to run it in line with the radiator cooler. Just need to decide if I want to tap into the hardline or rubber section.

Well, had a little hiccup in my faith in this things reliability. Stopped for lunch on the way to Costco with the family. All done eating, everyone loaded up and I hit the key... click. (dead) Hit it again... click. Key off, hit it one last time and she fired up. Battery is brand new, so it looks like she'll need a starter soon. In the meantime I'll be rolling with a hammer in the trunk.
FWIW, I still think this thing will carry more groceries than the minivan, just because of the way it's configured. So much trunk space. Perfect for those big Costco trips.

I dealt with a dieing starter for like a year. What I would do is turn the key and hold start with my left hand and row the shift knob up and down through from park to gear, back and forth till it started. No idea why it worked but worked every time. I guess I thought it was a neutral switch, until I replaced the starter finally.

Big ole pan for trans drops huh? I bought a new one not too far back and ..........never have a drop hit the floor. Can't beat an oversized pan.
Wow, Scott's car is ready and Brandon is gonna be doing a starter in a billion degrees. FWIW the last week has been 90+ with 70+ dew point aka feels like horrible Florida humidity.

Humidity is a killer for me. Coming up on a decade living here in Tucson and it's safe to say I'm fully acclimated. Anything under about 65 degrees is chilly.
So it turns out I may not have actually NEEDED a starter. Went to install the new one and found one of the starter bolts finger tight, the other one flat out loose, and the nut to hold the battery lead GONE. FFS.
I went ahead and installed the new one anyway. It was only $100 for a locally re manufactured unit with a 3 year transferable warranty. TAE/CAE
Also got the Aeroforce back and installed. My #1 concern is watching knock but I also want to see the trans temps before and after I put the monster cooler in.

Still rocking the stock manifolds. I want to tie up all the loose ends and do some "data acquisition" before I do any of the major mods.
And it's really hot right now.

Having gone to Tucson in the middle of July (116F when we landed), I need to say it doesn't feel like much at all. Sure it's warm, but with the negative level of humidity it feels pretty decent. Here, the sweat pours off of you and you are well aware that you are losing water faster than you can drink it. In AZ.. I took a gallon jug of water to bed each night and woke up with an empty jug. Both suck...if given the choice I'd rather deal with the AZ lack of humidity.
Always had one of those wire holders, it's such a good design. Did you flip the engine mounts yet?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
