Oh, I was thinking more about limiting public interaction (future me reading this; Covid-19/coronavirus is happening now).

I pulled the car around front and the whole family spent some time cleaning it. Wife and kids wiped down the seats and vacuumed it. I scrubbed the tires, gave the engine bay a bath and installed the new cabin air filter that was left in the trunk from the PO. Also flipped the upper motor mounts. It's a racecar now.

Best I can tell, the testing stations are still open. So unless something else comes up, I'll print out a temp tag and get it inspected on Friday. Then I can get the title transferred. Not sure how that's going to work.

dmv is closed here, theya re letting over due inspections and reg go for a month or so. not sure how they are dealing with new car that need title and new reg and plates. im guessing those ppl are SOL for now. unless bought at a dealership with a temp tag.

Perfect time to slide the trans out and build it with a 1" chain. And gut the interior and put in that new sound system.

Hahahaha.. I'm such a good influence.

Bingo. I can't transfer the title until I get the emissions test OR a "level 1" inspection (which supersedes the level 1 inspection). The bureaucrats need to verify the VIN on the title matches the VIN on the car.

we are the other way round. for a private sale you cant drive it till it been insured first, then bring proof of ins with you to dmv, then re title and reg it in your name. ( you get new plates unless you transferred plates from the last car) then you go off the last inspection sticker on the car and just go when its expired.

theres no printing out a temp tag privately, or any 2 week grace where they let you drive with no plates or insurance. seen that crap on live pd, im all wtf? not here, they would take you and your car, then you loose your lic for 2 years for no insurance. and a load of other tickets. if you slapped other plates on it, ( even off one of your cars) well thats a felony here fistulous plates.

    It's funny around here.

CT - you get insurance on car you are going to buy based on VIN, go to DMV to get a temp paper plate in order to drive it home etc. Once you buy it and have title in hand, then you go register it in your name, then get inspected.

MA - No temp plates. You take your plate and reg off your car, call insurance company to insure by vin and with bill of sale, title, your other car reg you are good to drive it for 7 days. Go register it in your name and then you have 7 days to get it inspected.

Seems around here they always want the registration monies.

Well I just got an email from the state. The registration on my '06 2500 HD will expire soon and that requires an emissions test before I can renew. Since the system to print a temp tag STILL isn't working, I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I'm going to load the Regal up on the tow dolly and drag it into town with the 2500. Run the Regal through the OBDII check, then swing around and run the truck across the rollers. Once all that is done I'll feel better about putting the headers on. Primaries are wrapped. Waiting to check fitment before I wrap the crossover.

    Yup. $140 Pacesetter knockoff.

if so they dont look half bad.
They're decent. I had to work them a little. Some of the large tubes stuck past the flange, and the EGR tube was poking halfway into the #6 primary. Minor details, but I have the time so why not break out the grinder and make them better?

Thanks! This is my first time wrapping headers too. In spite of wearing gloves I'm still all itchy!

I'll probably run the existing flex just to see how long it lasts. Pulling that section of pipe when it blows out won't be that big of a hassle. I'll probably put a cat on it in the near future also since it's the "family" vehicle.

I'm eager to get going on this thing, believe me. I also want to drive it in stock for for a little while. I'd like to get some data logs and get used to it at its stock power level. Then incrementally make improvements. Ideally I'd take it to the dragstrip and get some timeslips. My times will never be great compared to others with similar mods due to the DA here, but at least then I would have number to best. Unfortunately our track is closed for the foreseeable future.

Also, yes, I have plenty of other things to keep me busy if I can't work on this thing!

One more step closer to hitting the road. Passed emissions no problem. Truck did too. Another $24.50 for the state to waste.

Here she is, fresh off the test. Maybe someday I will wash it. Those foam cannon things any good?

Foam cannon attachments on a pressure washer are the best things ever.

I will have to grab one of them now that I have a real pressure washer.

Big day for the Regal!! Title is transferred and I got it plated. Just need insurance and we can start driving it!. I may pull the insurance off the S10. We really don't need 4 plated and insured vehicles for 2 drivers.

Now for the big craigslist score; I got a set of 8 Delphi 01D0308 42lb injectors for $80! Guy pulled them off his cobra bla bla bla whatever to put a carb on it. Super cool guy. Anyway, Not sure if I want to send them out to get cleaned and flowed or just put on new O-rings and call that good. Going to be a while before I NEED them anyway, but for $80 I couldn't pass them up!
