The truck is a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab with a composite bed, not stepside. it has 220,000 miles on it but the engine, transmission and transfer case have been rebuilt. the truck has been upgraded with flex fuel fuel injectors. future mods might include caltracs, a return fuel system, a dual fuel pump system, a turbo, a coil over setup for the front end and a 12 bolt rear end.

My friend had one with the plastic bedsides. Not a bad idea if you ask me, I liked the design.

I'm curious how much, if any, lighter it is. the good thing about it is that it has more space in between the wheel wells.

You may have a point there because the structure may be beefier. I believe the reason for that option is corrosion resistance.

Google "GM RPO Codes" Should have multiple site results. Probably need to bounce between 2 or 3 to find a match for every one. I have yet to find a full list that matches each of my codes.

Looks like it's smaller than a 6.5 bed and more like a 5.9in bed but hard to tell from the pictures. They did that with the later years too, very odd option.

A few things though. 2002 should be cable throttle body and factory return style fuel system. The drive by wire trucks went return less. Dual fuel pumps is silly, a single walbro 450 will support something stupid like 700hp on pump gas. 12 bolts are cool but a 10 bolt with a correct rear end setup will handle a turbo setup just fine.

    A 4L80e is a must, the 4L60e will grenade in a heartbeat.

I doubt that truck has auto level suspension or computer controlled anything like that.

Those years don't even have stabilitrak and it's rare to find one of those early trucks with factory traction control.

You're glove box has all the options that truck should have come with.

It's a meaningless RPO code from everything I read. It has zero information past those three words.

It's not a computer controlled suspension by any means on that particular truck.

Here are a bunch of other RPO codes with the same wording. Sounds like GM just had a generic code for what I want to call "mass produced parts" that everything used regardless of trim level.

6V6 : MODIFICATION, CHASSIS RECREATION VEHICLE
6XM : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND
6XN : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND

6XT : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND
6XU : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND
6XW : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND
6XY : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND
6Y1 : ORNAMENTATION EXTR MLDG, FRT DOOR BODY SI
    6Y2 : SEAT RR, ----DELETE

Someplace I have a link to a website that makes replacement seat covers, ranging from $120-$300 depending on if you want "leather" or leather.

I'll probably just sew up the torn seats. I've been looking at the rpo codes again, and it has the G80 locking rear differential with a 3.73 final drive. The truck also has memory seats with heat on both. Still need to test them and see if the heat works. I don't really care if the memory seats work.
