Edit: My goals for this build are 11s with the nic cam. Once I hit that, I'll be going turbo again. To my knowledge and rigorous forums research, I have seen no nic cars in the 11s but a few very close. I know Steve Hickman was close with a 12.11 until his airbags went off on the track.

    Current Mods:
8.5:1 JE forged pistons .020 over
    Nic cam
    2.8 pulley
Zzp stage 2 full size intercooler
    Single pass heat exchanger
    Northstar throttle body/ Lq4 maf
    Arp head and main studs
    90# springs and double roller
    Ported lim
    Zzp stage 3 heads
    Pacesetter headers w/custom vbanded downpipe
    3" zzp exhaust
    60# injectors
    AEM 320 ethanol pump
    Casper's rewire
23* of timing wot with no kr
    Billet Flexplate
    2800 stall TC
Rebuilt trans with all upgrades except input shaft and chain
    Suspension:
SSC Springs on KYB GR-2 struts
    front and rear ZZP STBs
    ZZP Trailing Arms
12" Impala dual piston front brakes
    12"GXP rear brakes
    Progressive front sway bar
    GMPP rear swap bar

This car has already ran a 12.8 with a 2.1 60ft. I'm hoping to pick up an aluminum subframe, Aztec aluminum bumper supports, a manual drivers seat, and some other light weight fun stuff. I figure if i drop a couple hundred pounds and drop the 60 ft to 1.7 ish, it should be mid 12s or so.

Car ran a 12.6 at 108 before the headers, ported blower, ic, or northstar

I just picked up a rust free 98 black coupe. It needs a bit of body work from an accident but, it drives smooth and straight. This will be my new build thread. The cars already had a bit done to it like e85, nic cam, 2.8 pulley, and a full exhaust. 0 kr BTW so that's nice. I'll have to upload a few pictures later. I do have an idle clip though.

Good shyt mann. Staying in the 3.8 fam. Are you transferring over any parts from the Regal? What did you do with that thing anyway?

Most of the regal has gone to a better place since I thought I was out of the 3800 cars. I did get to put on the front and rear stbs along with zzp trailing arms and a Casper's fuel pump rewire.

This weekend was a productive one.

Scored a Gen v and lim from the junkyard

Then found a complete set of gxp rear brakes.

Then today I replaced the wiper motor and arms since it was stuck straight up.

I dig the car because black coupe but hey its got a good start on coolness and go mods. Curious what bodywork it needs, guessing driver's side. Black paint makes fixing that so much simpler! Have fun bringing it up to snuff all around. Has it got a pile of miles on it?
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

180K on the body. The engine and trans were gone through around 40K ago. I have to grab some por15 to coat the underside and strut towers. They are totally spotless which is pretty much the whole reason I went with this car.

Got the rear gxp brakes installed this weekend. I also managed to get some of the drivers side body damage ready for paint along with replacing the drivers door.

Damn that's a tight fit! Are those stock 16's?

Also, you gotta update your signature... The Regal is no more.

    Update:
I switched out the zzp shift kit with a transgo shift kit, drilled out a couple holes for the cable mod, added a fire extinguisher, and finished installing some of the interior bits. I also picked up another dhp tuner from Scotty (thanks again)

That exhaust cutout's interesting. I've looked at a few ..some of them even have bluetooth now.

Two concerns I had: Longevity due to a rust area and moving parts, like how long will it seal well? The other kinda goes with that, these cars are loud straight off the cat. And, I mean loud. (for readers that haven't heard it)

Seems like begging for a ticket ..or worse if it gets stuck open, lol.

I've been through 3 electric exhaust cutouts in my Camaro. The motors tend to fail and either get stuck limp, flopping the valve open or closed and you manually push it back open. I went with the "Summit" brand they refunded me after the first one died in a year. I think it's all the heat that kills them.

    Cutout open on my Z/28.

    Ugh, not fun.

You could go with a manual one.

Err.. I see there's even plate blocked ones. Now that's on the cheap! Lol

There is a plate that comes with it. I'll just run the cover until I go to the track. Ten put it back on when I leave.

Because I've bought and sold like 5 Gen vs and I thought you could use one. When I do the swap I have to swap over the alternator and bracket since I have a 98. It's a bit more involved than I want to get right now

Bit of an update. I picked up a zzp ported Gen 3 for $50 with an mps on it. I then machined the doubt down to run a sub 2.8 pulley. I also finished up installing my kyb struts with ssc springs
