Haven't run dexcool in 5+ years. Maybe 10+... But the ghosts of dexcool remain! You shoulda seen the water pump I took out when doing the LIMs. That thing was 2 years new and the impellers got eaten alive. Running green those entire 2 years. Hell... the heater core hoses I took out just a year ago when the car got curbed where full of dexcool dust. Even the overflow tank has remnants of it despite repeat scrubbings. Shyt don't quit.

BTW the water pump is aluminum and the conventional green crap isn't good for aluminum.

Haha. Found that out myself, yesterday. I was Googling for them the day I removed them but was using the wrong words. I was searching alt. bracket connector/fitting/adapter... and wasn't getting any hits. Only how-to's for the alternator upgrade... Didn't think to Google "Heater Hose Fitting". Lol. That's all it was, that simple. Coulda just gone to OReilly's and got them that day. Oh well. Only Genuine GM for this beaut.

There is 5 year green coolants. The original conventional green **** is only good for about 2 years.

I run NAPA dexcool in all my GMs. The dexcool formula has been changed like 5 times over the years so I'm pretty sure they've fixed it by now because ive had no issue. Regardless of what coolant you decide to run, try to make sure all the old buildup has been flushed out. Whenever I change coolant, I grab the garden hose and flush the system for a minimum of 20 minutes cause I'm anal about it lol.

What I do is flush for 5 minutes straight then back flush for 5, forward flush for 5, then back flush for 5. I do the heater core separately for maybe 10 mins.

At the car now. New heater hose adapters are installed. No leaks. All the brake calipers are installed, and bled. Had my dad help me out, went well. We only had one leak, at the inline valve connection, passenger rear... But that was it.

Now, when I had the engine running I put the car in neutral, and the front axles were spinning. Is that normal?? I'm guessing its cuz the car is in the air, and otherwise they would not spin with the full weight of the car. Is that right?
