    Hello everyone,
I'm Chris, i own a Jetta. Untile 2 days ago. Now i own a 01 Jetta AND a 2000 Buick Regal GS with 136k miles that landed on my hands dirt cheap from an auction. My friend wanted to buy a GS, and i kept an eye out for him, and when finally one emerged available, he backed down. I said " if you dont want it, i'll bid on it and i'll get it if it sels for dirt cheap". .....The next day i was on my way to D.C. to pick it up ( on a trailer).
Auction said it has SERVICE ENGINE SOON, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON, ABS, BRAKES, LOW COOLAND and TRAC OFF lights ON, and the prev owner noted brake issues..
When i drove it up the trailer i noticed brake pedal went all the way down, no brakes....
Got it home, gave it a wash , gave the engine a wash. Here it is.

The Trac off, abs, and service vehicle soon lights could be on because of broken wires to the abs sensor in one of the wheel bearings.

Wow, this community is ALIVE !
Today i put it on the lift, put some brake fluid ( it was empty) , and found leaky bleeding nipples, rusted also...
After i cleaned them and tightened them back, ALL LIGHTS went away.
Had brake pedal for a sec, then it lost pressure again.
I take it up again loog under it, found a pinhole in a brakeline that goes to front right wheel ( the long nasty looing). New one iw 58$ on amazon oem.
I have engine cover, its in the trunk i washed it too.
    ENGINE FEEELS STRONG!
OH! and found a broken vacuum line by the battery going up on the suspension, that s proll whats causing a very slight erratic idle.

that busted line was also causing your hvac to not blow the air where you tell it too, that line powers the air flow direction.

For the airbag light.. find the yellow connector under the driver seat.. disconnect and reconnect it 5 times.

Very likely that'll fix it up.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

really. also try the yellow plug near the obd2 port. if the steering wheel radio controls are dead, its the clock spring that broke.

then theres the air bag module under the pass seat and the carpet, if the cowl leaked ever it could have killed it from being wet. or its ground is corroded.

my car had a bad clock spring, and the air bag module was shot from getting wet.

    My bad.
"After i cleaned them and tightened them back, ALL LIGHTS went away"
Earlier i said AIRBAG, i ment to say ABS ! THeyre all gone now , it was all because of no brake fluid in the tank.
Brake line on the way by Wednesday.
Because the rims are stained from brake fluid, and a little bit of brake dust, i think im gonna ruff them up and give them a coat or two of either the same silver colour, or maybe a shade darker like a gunmetal gray, havent decided yet. theyre not curbed so theyll take it perfect
The driver seat is torn. beyond repair. i found a gray interior seats front and back, but my interior is TAN... any ideas where i could find one?

    *update
Mounted the brake line today, and the front bleeders. Bled the brakes, everything is good, brake pedal has really good feel.
Took it for a ride, runs on 5 cyl, misfire on cyl 1. Took a closer look at the #1 wire, its sparking on the oil dipstick neck.
So i need new ignition wires , and sparkplugs.
    Wires ill go for OEM.
Wich spark plugs should i run>?

iridium plugs are what to use if your stock. they last almost 100,000 miles.

you can get copper core pulgs, they are much cheaper @ 2 bucks a plug, but only last 12-15,000 miles tops.

Before i replaced the brake line, after just pooring some brake fluid in the reservoir, the ABS light went off .. and came back on as soon as the brake fluid leaked ( wich is normal).
Now, its still on, with bled brakes ( and the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON ). WOnder why....

I'll put it on the bigboy scanner tomorrow and go in the ABS see what codes it has. On the normal scanner i only got the misfire.
I'm on the lookout for a drivers seat leather / tan/ 6way/ heated/airbag... asside from personally going to salvage yards... any other resources?

Apparently the smartboy says ABS code C1218... maybe some brake fluid got in there... ? or i jinxed the sensor to the wheel when i manhandled the brake line ?
