So I am replacing all my 07 GT cloth stock seats with good condition leather ones I found in a junkyard. The problem is there's no power or battery so I can't put the power driver seat forward to get to the bolts. Any suggestions how to get the seat pushed up without power? or how to remove it without pushing the seat forward?

    Put jumper cables on.

ive heard of people using a 12 volt cordless drill battery and some jumper wires. its nice and light to carry into a yard.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

With what? You can't drive another car into the junkyard and there are no batteries in any of the cars. They takers all out and drain all fluids before putting them in yard.

Thanks Scotty. That makes sense actually. I'll try with a portable power supply/jumper.

that will work too, but it weighs as much as a battery sometimes

No I got a small but powerful one. I guess I just need to find a wiring diagram to figure out which wires are power, fwd, reverse, etc.

    jump the actual battery cables.
most power seats work without the ignition on.

Can't do that. Didn't I mention this is in a junkyard? There are no battery cables, most of the wires are either cut or missing in the engine and console, no fuse box etc. Gonna have to hack directly into the seat.

just poke around in the plug while holding the forward button on the seat. that other thread has a link, it should tell you what wire does what tho.

I did this recently, using a "jump box" and a small metal pick tool. No diagram required, guess I got lucky.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

seats-driver-power-seat-circuit-1-of-1.pdf I found the actual wiring diagram. thought I would upload it to help anyone else that might need it. Think I might install some dynamat under the carpet now that I got all the seats out.

Now that I got all that figured out. Maybe you guys can help me with this. The wiring harness for my 07 is different than the seat harness on the 05. Not sure what to do here other than maybe ripping the one out of the 05 and splicing it in.

Here's pictured of me holding the connector coming from my car, and the connector on the seat, see the size difference? I'm thinking they added some extra sensors or something for my year.

your supposed to take the car side plugs form the car you got the seat from., cut yours off and re splice it in.

Yeah. I'm an electronics technician so that won't be a problem. Will get the car side plugs from the junkyard tommorrow and have that done in 5 minutes.

Ok back to the drawing board. The junkyard wouldn't let me bring a jumper/power supply into the yard. I was like "!, then how the hell am I supposed to remove a power seat if you won't let me apply power to it?"

The ignorant, fat, lazy, A-hole at the counter just looked at me with his lazy eye and a dumbfounded look on his face and said "I don't know, I just don't know"

So I guess I'll try again tomorrow with the Jumpers on the cordless drill battery method. Hopefully they don't protest to me bringing a cordless drill in. And hopefully my drill battery is powerful enough.

bring the whole drill tell him its for taking bolts off and screws. pocket the jumper wires.

they dont allow jump boxes because they dont want you trying to turn over a engine.
