Hello, Im new to this forum and new to this vehicle. I just acquired a 2004 GPGT with 201k that has not run for about 7 months. The original owner had this problem and had it towed to a dealer. They reset it and everything was good for two weeks. It happened again and he had it towed home and there it sat. I bought it with a dead battery and one key and non working fob. battery in the remote fob may be dead also. I put a new battery in the car and tried the relearn procedure numerous times but the display does not blink or go out and it wont crank. The fuel pump does pressurize and it will start if I jump the purple wire at the starter, but will only run for a couple seconds. Can someone please advise me on what steps to take to try and diagnose this problem? Im hoping for this car to be my sons first car and he will be getting his license soon. Please be specific on locations of anything I can check or test as I am not too familiar with this vehicle. Thank you in advance for any help given

yeah er kinda SOL without a decent scanner that can read the BCM and get the security tested out.

often its just the sensor in the ignition switch assembly.

quite possibly your cheapest solution is to get an aftermarket PCM or a tuner to remove/disable the PASSKEY3 system in the PCM to remove the issue.

Thank you for your reply, would the tuner you speak of eliminate all security system problems including the possibility of it being a bad sensor in the ignition switch assy? Do you have experience with this tuner and do you recommend one? Im not concerned about the security system so im all ears, just want to get it running and at this point, atleast i know it runs lol. Hopefully after getting it to stay running, it will move too One thing at a time...
