wait lol no its on the left
2000 stratus gets me a 2.5l, on the eclipse it just says what engines it doesnt cover, which is the 3.0 and 3.5
my stratus was a 2001 coupe se it had the 2.4
I cant think of any other cars that they put that engine in
Yeah chilton is not very specific. The eclipse might be the right one, but there actually isnt a head gasket R&R for it... Is this the engine by chance?

the engine is pretty much like that but it says 2.4L mitsubushi on it.
Hmm. Well chilton is useless once again.
that sucks! I tried so many youtube videos but I cant find one with this engine. I watched like 10 videos of how to do it on other engines
There are downloadable manuals on the internet. You just have to know where to look. Considering you have the 4g64 there will be guides out there somewhere considering that was the engine used in the 2G Eclipse Spyders.
alright I will go look some more. hopefully I find one
alright so I replaced the headgasket, thermostat, water pump and put coolant in it. it is still overheating and no heat inside the car. clogged heater core maybe? also everytime I take the battery out and put it back in the car dies at stop signs. but when its driving it runs perfectly (besides the overheating) any ideas? maybe a idle air control valve?
If its still overheating, plugged rad/gummed up cooling system? or air in the cooling system.
radiator was replaced last summer but im gonna try and unclog all the hoses and heater core as soon as its warm enough outside
alright well the headgasket blew again. and im not paying a lot of money again. anyone know of a site that its under $40 for a headgasket. 4g64 engine.
