I recently upgraded my PCM and had an issue as the theft deterrence system locked out the starting system. Referring to the factory service manual's 30 minute reprogramming section added frustration as it did not work. Since I purchased the PCM upgrade from the W Body Store, they got me going. I will be doing another PCM on the 04 Comp G in a month and I am sure to have the same issues. Looking aroung online was no help, there were many methods that did not work. I wanted to post the method I used to actually get the theft deterrence system to re-program. I can't say enough good about Mike at the W Body Store!
Anyway here is the method I used.
    1. Disconnect battery

    2. Install new PCM

    3. Reconnect battery

    4. Put emergency brake on to disable daytime running lights (this step is required!)

    5. Make sure all doors trunk and hood are closed leave driver window down and reach in through window

    6. Try to start. If it doesn't start, leave the key in the on position for 10 min on 97-03 cars and 15 min for 04 and newer cars. For 04 and newer cars the driver information center will display "starting disabled by theft deterrence system".

    7. Turn off ignition for 3 seconds

    8. Try and start the car. It probably won't start. Leave the key in the on position for 10 min on 97-03 cars and 15 min for 04 and newer cars. After this try, for 04 and newer cars, the driver information center still will display "starting disabled by theft deterrence system".

    9. Turn off ignition for 3 seconds

    10. Try and start the car. It probably won't start. Leave the key in the on position for 10 min on 97-03 cars and 15 min for 04 and newer cars. After the third try, for 04 and newer cars, the driver information center will display "theft deterrence system not programmed".

    11. Turn off ignition for 3 seconds and then try to start the car. The car should start as the theft system was now re-programmed.
