    Hey everyone,

I have a 1997 Grand Prix 3.8L . No supercharger. Now for the problem. I have had the standard lights go out when blower is on anything besides off or 5. The real problem began with a bad battery, I got the car started with a charger with a boost function on it. When I did this the speedometer pegged out and stayed there. Now that I have replaced the battery the power windows, power locks, radio, and dome lights wont work. Dash lights, wipers, power seat and blower still work. Any ideas? I had to take the relay box under the hood loose to change out the battery but I have double checked that and everything seems to be plugged in properly. I have checked the relevant fuses and all seem good. Is there a relay or major fuse that would take out most of the cabin power? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I have checked some of those, like locks. I didn't get a meter on the big power window fuse yet

    Wait...

Wasn't this released as a TSB? Blower resistor or something...

    I know it was...

Any who, isn't there another fuse box hidden when you open your driver door?

    Check your grounds.

Under the ice, next to the battery, and under your brake booster/cruise control.

Personally I'm thinkin ... most of the stuff you mentioned is typically related to the ignition switch. Nearly all the power for the stuff goes through the ignition switch.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Add this to the troubleshooting mix. I replaced the IGN relay with a cooling fan one (same p/n) no help. Checked all the IGN fuses and MALL fuses all good. Started the car and noticed the one of the front dome lights or map lights was lit but very very dim. Does that spark any ideas anywhere?

    Sounds like the BCM.

Have fun. (sorry, I'm not digging through TSBs for ya, especially since you didn't even google)

I did spend a day on google and bing. I know the lights going off with the blower on anything but off or 5 is a TSB. That's why I called it the "standard problem", because I know its common and there was a TSB on it. Which I know either the blower motor reisitor , headlight switch, or ignition can fix. The bigger problem I need help with is No power seats, power locks, power sunroof, radio, and ultra dim map lights. Also the speedo pegged.

There's another Fuse box just inside the driver door in the dash.

Check the ground near your vacuum booster/master cylinder/cruise control module

I will have to look for that fuse box, I have checked the one in the glove box. I will check that ground too. It just seems odd that this problem only popped up after using a 150A booster to jump start the car with a bad battery. I cant help but think fuse or relay.

So far no luck, although the speedo did start working again after a drive to town. Grounds seem fine. Thinking about either getting a manual with a wiring diagram or just breaking down and taking it in.
