OK I've had a ongoing problem and as far as I've looked and tried to find answers, I haven't found any....my problem starts when I replaced a CV axle from my 99 gt auto transmission, a noise, OK more of a clack whenever I hit a bump or sometimes when I shift from reverse to drive.....people told me it was CV joints but I had both replaced and only passenger side clacks, any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Is there some way to do-it-yourself alignment fix at least a better than before fix, I mean I heard you put spacers in old trucks but I don't know if there's a way to fix the alignment on these cars.

#1 Check all the hardware you touched on that side to pull/install the axle. Likely you'll find it or your new axle isn't so great.

#2 Google it up. There's old time ways to measure etc, but none of us will be quite as accurate as the $80 Sears etc computerized laser guided alignment.

#1. Uninstall, Inspect, and reinstall the part. Did you grease the boot? Is it sealed? It could be your hub assembly.

#2. I'd just bring it in for an alignment.

But to answer your question, I believe they are called camber kits or something.

OK @BillBoost37 hardware was checked upon installation and professional install...tried googling alignment but random always appears

@Thompsju if hub assembly is wrong, how can I go about checking that?.....and I finally decided alignment is shop is gonna be final on that

I looked around and could it also be lower control arm bearing or ball joint?

Check all of your grease boots. If they're torn and/or seeping, that will dry out your bearings and make that awful noise.

But, eliminate the chance of a faulty install by doing it again. Perhaps find a write-up, have someone inspect the part. (what brand is it?)

I believe the lower control arm boots are ripped on every vehicle in the universe lol.

Check boots, grease what you can.

ever change the lower motor mounts? they can make a clanking sound when shifted in and out of gear. pop the hood watch the engine as you shift it fro P to R then to D, if theres a lot of engine movement, the lower mounts are dead.

Professional install doesn't mean the person isn't human. I'd like to think I can install a part as good as a professional etc, maybe better. Yet I'm human and still miss things once in a while.
