Looking for ideas guys. My father has a 1998 GTP and when he got it inspected 2 months ago he was told he needed a tie-rod on the drivers side. I replaced that and he took the car home. He finally brought it for an alignment last week and they wouldn't do it as they told him he eea new wheel bearing on the same side. No big deal as I have done this on my car already. Here is the issue. Drive the car forward for 40 feet and you can push the drivers wheel at the 12 o'clock position and feel it rock slightly and clunk. It did this with the old bearing and still does it with the new one. Drive the car in reverse and it goes away. I am by no means a mechanic. I have however checked the sway bar, end links, strut for loose bolts, and the steering rack for broken mounts. I rechecked all the work I did and have no idea what to look for next. Is it possible the steering rack itself is failing? The new bearing seems fine. At least after backing the car up. And the bearing was from Napa. Thanks for any ideas.
