I'm back again with a question about a water pump. I tried to remove the water pump on my 2002 GTP 3800 series II L67 cause it seem that maybe I wasn't getting big water flow going thru my engine. The upper radiator hose seem extremely tight and hot to the touch, while the lower hose seemed cool/warm and no pressure on the hose. I removed the thermostat thinking it my be stuck closed and started the car every thing was the same. I took the pump off as far as I could get it cause I couldn't figure out how to get half inch bolt out next to the power steering pump, at least until I saw this Youtube video. I found out the pump on my car had no blades to pull the water flow. The flat blade was there but at the ends there was no bent outwards tabs/flanges. It kind of looked like a ninja throwing star and was just as sharp too. I plan on posting a photo as soon as I get it off completely and figure out how to post a picture. Has anyone ever seen this before, or know how this could have happened? There doesn't seem to be any scour/scratch marks on the motor housing where the pump mounts, so I don't think maybe someone put the wrong one on and it ground the blade flanges off. It was a little rusty though and it turned but not like a brand new one, but it wasn't hard to turn either like it was locking up. No water was coming out of the weep hole while it was running. Any ideas anyone. I would love here some answer to this one.
