what are your other mods to support a 3.0 pulley?
Nothing yet its just at a 3.4 pulley and headers and down pipe are goin to be on soon. and of course i tune if i do go with a 3.0 pulley
Are you already running the 3.4 pulley? If so I would take that off and put the stock one back on till you can scan to make sure its not knocking.
I think you need to do some research before you go any further with your car. Most cars can not run a 3.4 pulley without some other mods, be it headers, plog, downpipe, race gas and a custom tune, intercooler to name a few.
This thread will give you some better ideas of where to start and where you would want to go. http://www.grandprixforums.net/safel...0-a-67580.html
Stock snout can run down to a 2.8
a two step is something applied to manual transmission cars. you have no idea what you're talking about.
edit: confused two step (launch control) and anti-lag (turbo backfires).

So to step in here stop bashing the car has been a year with no scan on the 3.4 and doesn't skip a beat, he wants 2step for the fun of it, and if there only for a turbo car then why does our buddy's 11sec camaro have 2 step. I guess it's to look cool huh and for 3 he does know what he's talking about and so do I we have had boosted cars and worked on a lot and have a friend with a 88 fiero that runs high 11's so we are checking everything as we start to mod... So chill your jets on the bashing there guys...
As Bio said, I've only ever known them for Manual Trans cars, so unless this GP has a Getrag swap under the hood, its probably not going to be useful.
Aside from that, yes he may be on a 3.4 for a year and yes it may "run fine" with "no problems" but scan it and see. I would imagine its pulled so much timing that it's slower than a stock car is. But if it is a glorious god given motor that works unlike most we see, don't blow it up with a 3.0. Listen and do the safe thing, get supporting mods.
No bashing, but usually, by now, its kaboom.
Oh ya we know to do supporting mods lol that's a given I wouldn't give it long on a 3.0 that's obvious I'm just stating the 3.4 pulley and on the 2step it's just for fun something to play with lol Were putting it on the scanner today or tomorrow idk what day they have setup lol if it is pulling that much timing then how would you correct that because the stock pulley was screwed previous owner somehow bent it that's why we did the 3.4 instead of staying stock pulley. Now I do have a question what is the stock kr? Normally and what is it normally with a 3.4?
iirc normal can go up to 6-8* KR on some motors. The difference is on a 3.4 6-8* KR is like 16-18* KR on a stock pulley. The smaller you go on pulley, or more mods you throw at the car, the smaller the window is for KR and the motor holding together.
Ideally, on a 3.4 you want less than 2* KR peak, preferrably 0 KR across the WOT range and shifts if you plan to go with a smaller pulley. Rocking the 3.4 as it is, if its knocking at all, consider running full headers since he wants to drop pulley even more, AL104s, alki/meth/Intercooler setup of some kind... or have him buy a cam and keep the 3.4 and not worry about it.
LOL a 2 step on a supercharged automatic car..... if anything you could just brake boost
Fmhe? Ic goes under the sc
