Hi All!
I'm Anissa and I've been cruising in a black '94 SE (3.1L) Coupe, etc., since.... almost '94. I turned 16 and got my license in November '96. It was a great learner and is still with me, affectionately known as the Broomstick (AZ plate: BRMSTIK), and is soon to hit the 100,000 mile mark! My only "mods" if you can call them that, are the once rebuilt/once replaced transmission and Infinity rear speakers and subwoofer in the trunk. I wish my newer car, with stock infinity sound was as great.
I thought its original Wisconsin climate was going to do more damage (salted up roads=rust!) than my current Arid-zona climate, but I'm wrong. It seems the plastic parts, of which there are more than I care for, are getting weak/worn at a crazy pace, despite tinted windows and sunshades whenever not in use. W
When I have down-time at work, I find myself cruising eBay and Google for parts, but I'm disgusted with all the sites that have different names/layouts, but are basically all the same. I am so glad I found this site and should've looked for it rather than parts! I joined a similar site for Chrysler Crossfire owners last year, so I could gather intel before taking the purchase plunge, so it was in my mind that there'd be a site like this.
Most important thing to know about me: Though I am very familiar with my Broomstick, I don't know squat about most car parts or their nicknames (what's a cat other than a feline? ).
I used to have an oil guzzling (but not leaking) issue when the car was younger, but that's been resolved for the most part. I run HOT and can always smell it when I get out of my car, no matter the distance traveled. I don't have any real grease-monkey friends who I can depend on for the truth, advise, or paid-for labor so I'm leery about any repairs I have to find a shop for.
As long as she's working well, I'd like to spruce up some the old/well-worn parts and exterior boo-boos so if the day ever comes that I must tear myself away, she'll still be at least somewhat valuable. I would prefer used parts to new parts shipped from China, so I expect to be a lurker in the parts for sale section. First on my list is the door lock/unlock... not the actuator, not the switch itself, but the door's housing that it lives in. Despite being gentle, the plastic is broken and I have no where to attach it.
That's more than enough for now I suppose. Thank y'all for being here! I'll post a few pictures when/if I get the exterior shined up. A paint job and dent removal is what I need, Nu-Car is what I got.
