***Please be advised... I own the car...don't work on it... will if I have to but then it might explode***
Hello everybody!
What I wanted to know is:
should replace the nosecone/snout unit or rebuild it. My
car has almost 160k miles and the nose cone sounds awful. I just got the O2
senor replaced as well as the plugs and wires because the engine light came on
and also had a misfire reading. It's still doing a spazzy reving type
noise when it's in park and also at times when I'm driving and have to slow down
to turn a corner...it's even cut off a couple of times recently. My mechanic says the
rpms on the charger are hire than the regular engine and causing it to bog down
( he said like using a lawn mower to cut the grass and the grass is too tall).
He says the belt cant catch it right ( or something) The tensioner on that belt is loose
as well but he says that's not the big issue.
He says replace it but he's not familiar with this part in particular... no one
is it seems around here...except for a lil boy who has one, works on and races his and
said it's the bearings and maybe a spindle (?) turned from the sound it makes but since I
won't party with him he's a no show (go figure). Anyway I don't know what to
do... I don't know how to work on cars. I've seen rebuilt snout/nosecones online but I don't know.
Any and all help or information would be greatly appreciated. I also looked at the kits on rollingperformance.com
but I don't know what to do with them. I just need someone to tell me so I can tell the mechanic and keep it moving.
Oh and if anyone knows anyone in southwest virginia that can fix it for me please tell 'em holla at me! Thanks!
