First off, thank you to everyone that has helped me in previous posts. Now let's begin with my introduction and my story towards getting my first Pontiac vehicle.
I've grown up and have continued to live near Grand Rapids, Michigan in a town called Grandville.
Five years ago when I turned 16 (yes I'm 21) I got my first car, a 1997 Chrysler Cirrus LX. I loved the car but it gave me a myriad of issues. Namely, it chose to stall out and not restart all the time. It would just shut off when driving, sitting at stop lights, and just not even turn on after attempting to start it ome mornings (great excuse to skip class though). We never determined what the issue was even after spending way too much money on the damn car. After just a couple years, I was in a car crash after graduating high school that ended up totaling the car. Now even to this day, I still have some form of a connection to that car. I was sad after it was totaled even though it had let me down well over 30+ times on the road and it's not like it was the nicest looking car either.
Anyways, I moved on a couple months later and bought a 1993 Buick Century Special Edition to just get by for college over the next year...or so I thought. Due to issues with employment, I had the car for almost 3 years until just one week ago when it finally died. It had a huge array of inconvenient issues, looked horrendous, but it always started up and drove down the road even though I didn't give two damns about the car. I drove it on a few long trips across the state and even out of the state because I knew I could trust it even though I hated it. Now when it finally died, I felt happy inside as I truly hated the car and I knew what was about to come. There was no connection to it and I don't believe that's what you want as a driver & car owner. But anyways, this leads me to my first car and object in life that I'm extremely proud to own and cherish dearly.
This is my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix (Base Model) and I fell in love when I found her on Craigslist a month ago. As soon as the last car died, I bought this one just 3 hours later and drove away with her. Overall, the car is in great shape. Has a few scratches outside but nothing major at all. It does have an issue I'm working on where it stalls every now and then just two seconds after turning on the car (RPM's will dip for a split second, this is when it shuts off at times) but I just need to turn the key again and I'm set to go. I'll also have to get some new tires before Winter as well. Now I'm a huge nerd and love technology so I had some new speakers installed along with a new stereo with phone capabilities, bluetooth, and wireless calling with more features to come in the future (LED strips for daytime lights). I'm honestly surprised by how strong I feel about this car as it is just an object and I've barely owned it for a week. Perhaps it's because Pontiacs have been in my immediate family for about 20-years now and I've seen everyone with the latest models of Bonnevilles, Grand Prix, G6 models, and Torrents.
I'm glad to be part of this thread and want to know everyone's thoughts and questions about the car and myself.
