I can't get the inner CV joint out of the transmission on the passenger side. The whole thing came out by pulling on it except for the inner part and it won't budge. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

okay...so I tried that and it didn't work so now I've taken off what I guess would be the extension housing to see if that would help things along and so far it hasn't. Is this the right way to go about it or is there another way?
Push the CV axle in a lttle bit, then climb under the center of the car with a breaker bar (or any kind of bar that has a flat edge on both sides) and a sledge. Rest one edge of the bar on the cv axle so when you hit it, it knocks the cv axle out of the trans. About 2 hits should do it.
Hopefully you've already gotten it out by now, but if not, try this.
I tried that. I've been prying on it and hammering on it for days. It was wrecked on that side. I had to replace the control arm, stabilizer bar, steering knuckle, and hub assembly. Is it possible to jam it in there that it won't come out at all? I took off what I guess would be the extension housing to see if that would help but it hasn't.
There doesn't appear to be any transmission damage but it just isn't coming out.
The cv axle uses a compression snap ring. If too gentle of a force is used the ring grabs whatever its snapped to and hangs on. With a quick hit the ring compresses in the groove and pops out. It's possible that ring is damaged. Keep hammering at it. Try also rotating the cv so you're not just hitting it on the one place.
I had to pull the whole cap off the end of the transmission, pulled the whole rod on the inside out whatever it's called, the snap ring was jacked up but I got it off and got the inner cv cap off. everything is back together. now I hope that there is not a leak from the beating I gave while it was still on the car.
That would be the output shaft. Glad you got it sorted out.
Go get the CV slide hammer tool from Autozone. You'll need a U shaped adapter plate as well. I don't even mess around without picking up the tool. Sometimes it pops easily, and sometimes it doesn't, but the slide hammer makes it a piece of cake no matter what. $50 for the tool and it's refunded upon return.
