what is this plug in? It's right behind my front left tire. It came unplugged on day and was just hanging from the bottom. Could that be why my abs light is on? Could could it cause problems?

if the abs light went off after you plugged it in, you fixed your problem.

no resetting for abs, or air bags, when whats broke is fixed its a instant fix, aka light goes off.

you need to check all your hubs are plugged in, take them off clean them, add a dab of di electrical grease to the ends, work that in. also check the harness that runs along the lower control arms, they get torn up some times.

you can check each hub for play by jacking the car up, leave the wheel lugs tight, then push and then pull the top of the tire, if you feel play the hub is bad.

check all 4 wheels, if all feel tight, have the car scanned at a shop for abs codes, they can pin point the problem. better then you tossing money at it.

hubs cost about 130 each for a good name brand. dont get the parts store brand, they dont last so long, and have a short warranty.

just looked at it again, hows your steering? could be the mangna steer plug from the rack and pinion. follow the side thats going to towards the engine. if it leads to the fat part of the rack where the steering column bolts in, thats it.

found a pic, blue plug on the rack wire.

while your testing the hubs grab the fron tires at the 9 and 3 o clock positions, then push and pull the wheel side to side, if it moves, you need tie rods.

take the wheels off, check the sway bar end links, and the sway bar end for cracks, and look at the rubber bushing in the sway bar cap on the frame, just follow the bar to it.

also take a look at the bushings for the lower control arms you'll see the one clearly with the tire off, if its all torn up, you need a new pair of lca's. they are cheap at 42 bucks a side on line. its a whole new lca, comes with 2 new bushing and the ball joint.

no idea, being we dont what its for yet. if you got a set of car ramps, or jack and stands, get under the car and see where it goes.

im still kinda stuck on the rack plug. i know it plugs in off the side of the tranny there, but its been a while since i changed mine.

it would make your steering stiffer at slow speeds. ( unplugged) magna steer helps ease the steering at slow speeds, like for parking. it may turn easier now.

ok bear with me on this part lol

when the abs light does trip on some cars, it will make the steering stiff. like it cancels out the magna steer, some cars it does nothing to the steering.

so being they are tied in together some how, it maybe could. but also being the light stayed on, im thinking its not the problem right now.

back to the hubs and wires. as thats the single most common failure for a abs light to come on.

when my hubs went bad, they were moving and tripping the abs light, and they made my brakes suck, they would fade and have a mushy pedal. some more insight to a bad hub for ya.

my last hub, a week or so a go. sensor cap broke off stayed in the knuckle.

    new goodness.
