You have those guys in every single platforms I'm sure there's some GP douches out there lol it's up to you to stay true to yourself
Hey a thousand dollar gtp. It will still run just not well
Honestly get a cheap ass Honda that way you won't mod it without embarrassment. It will get good gas mileage unlike a gp (I did 32mpg on my stripped down beater coupe)
Get something with a stick. No matter what if your a car guy you'll enjoy driving it. Pay in cash for the full amount and then beat on it every day till your out of school and can afford to work for what you want.
If your dad is just gonna pay for it than still get a 1000$ Honda. They last forever with maintenance
i got my gtp for 1200 with 138k miles runs perfect even had the water pump replaced all new belts and all fluids changed before i picked it up and it gets 32mpg all day every day not a single problem out of it
my dad came home today and said theres a 08 G5 manual. not huge into G5s but its a good car and has 42xxx miles on it. i cant easily afford it just have to pick up hours this summer when i get out of school, maybe a secong job.
my main questions are~
does it getannoying drivinga manual for 3 years?
are G5s good cars?
i like driving stick, in semi quick cars
just talk to your dad seriously about it, as much as any of us would hate to admit it or not, generally our dads are normally are looking out for our best interests and trust his judgment
yeah but he told me to get a cavalier so i dont trust his judgement to much haha i know hes probably right but its a base model and i really will miss the speed of my grand prix but i proably need a slower car to be less stupid. has anyone owned one? are they as good as cobalts?
I drive a stick everyday in my fiesta. 100hp of meh. But I usually see triple digit speed on my way home from work.
The fiesta is alot quicker than my brothers civic. The fiesta was an economical choice. I needed a new car and to rebuild my credit. Two birds add I never miss a payment and it gets paid off in the years. Not bad for a 12k$ car out the door
What did you think of the G5?
My dad thought I was a fool for buying a GTP, but I am enjoying. You should buy an econo-box with a stick and if you're going to throw parts at it, only throw handling parts in and enjoy the twisties and good fuel milage.
I'm closer to 30 than 20 and I only now can finally afford to put a little bit of money into a semi-fun car.
I'm with everybody else who says that at 17 you shouldn't get yourself too far behind in money. If you can afford to pay cash, buy that car, but take out a small loan on it and build some credit, when you get older and are ready to buy something bigger, you'll be happy that you did.
