Well I currently own a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am, but I might sell it and buy a 4dr gtp (in the process of finding one). But I do have a couple a questions if anyone cares to give me there opinions.

    1. Will I be happy in a gtp coming from a trans am? (reason for the switch is because I like to cruise with the family and the t/a is tight.)
    2. I am looking at the 6th and 7th generation, leaning more towards the 6th. Is there a benefit to having one over the other? (I have done quite a bit of research but I don't see any benefits.)

Pretty much all I can think of right now. Here are some pic of my current Trans Am.

All depends. Do you like the speed and the rwd? If so, don't sell the trans am. U will miss it sorely.

if you will be modding, get a 97-03. better yet get a 98-03. 97 arent bad but they have a little bit of a different setup on vacuum routings and such.
its gonna be slow as a pig compared to your T/A, just so you know, but these cars are super easy to mod.

Slow as a pig? Damn, didnt want to hear that. Not that I race but I do like to hit it and feel the power . Not alot of options in American 4dr cars that still have a sporty look and feel. G8's are still out of my price range and the 96 Impala ss is just ok. Sometimes I like it Sometimes I dont :\ .

The most modding I would do is probably an exhaust and headers. Maybe a pully, I would love to pull the charger off and buy the turbo kit I have seen online for sale.

you could do a pulley relatively easily!
headers, tune and the pulley. you could get a mail order tune or have somebody tune it for you.
ive ridden in both a stock GTP and tons of stock WS6's. i have to say the WS6 is in a different league...if you really wanted to mod, a cam swap and 3.2 ish pulley would really wake up the GTP, even make it feel like your ws6.

Thanks for your input, I may have to find one to test drive and see how I feel about it after that.
