try un hooking the battery for 30 minutes, then hook it back up, see if that clears it up. make sure the wires are ok, not broken or cracked.

I will give it a try and let you know what happened.
It still won't crank over. I am just going to buy a new IAC valve.
hows the battery? do you have power at all? head lights, horn, interior lights, dash cluster lights up and all?
then you turn the key and what happens? a click and the dash lights go out?
yeah the battery had drained down some, but I also tried getting a jump start from my friend and it still didn't crank over.
by crank over, what do you mean, the engine wont start or no cranking of the engine at all? turn the key and you get nothing?
if your turning the key and get nothing, no click, no turning of the engine at all, hit the starter with a hammer, hard while someone turns the key. if it suddenly cranks and fires up, the starters bad.
with a charged battery it will first miss fire then after trying again. It will not even miss fire again. Is the IAC valve suppose to adjust itself to allow enough air in to start the motor? Because after it miss fire it seems like it's not getting air after the first try cranking up the motor. The car started yesterday when I took out the IAC valve and cleaned it, I let it run for about 20 minutes. It was cold yesterday I live in buffalo.
Change the IAC. Just cleaning it is a short term fix.
When this happened to me a couple of years ago it turned out to be the MAF; mass airflow sensor. I ran a couple red lights (no one was coming) to get it home. I would change the IAC first then consider the MAF next.when driving and having to stop at red lights. The car would idle real low then cut off.
^^^^this could be a good possibility, un plug the maf, then try start it up, see if it runs at all if not better.
or you could have a huge ass vac leak. or broken wires to the maf, or ait.
we need to remember this is a 3100 engine as well.
I'll try all of the above mention and let everybody know what happen?
It starts but what I think is the problem is a loose wire. Because it the rpm meter is still jumping. But when trying to start it sometimes it acts like it's not getting power. If it is a loose wire where should I check at?
I had both the crankshaft position sensor replaced. The in the back of the motor and the one behind the harmonic balancer.
And yes I still have a check engine light on. But I have to wait until the morning to get it scanned again.
Lol scotty you might be right about it being cursed...
Ok I got the car started today. I had to get the battery charged. But I had check engine light earlier and when I disconnected the battery it went away. I know the code is still there but my rpm gauge or speed odometer isn't working, plus now my radiator fan is not working. What do I have to do just to get them to work properly?
Its possible your ignition switch is bad
I know I got to replace the IAC valve. I just don't have the money right now. But is there a relay or fuse for the radiator or do I need to just replace that too?
