LIM gaskets?
Head gaskets don't blow 99.9% of the time.
I replaced upper and lower intake gaskets and she still smokes white and i lose antifreeze but it dnt show up in my oil for some reason
i change head gaskets an a few RWD cars and it was not bad but I never did one on a FWD but from what I can see should nor be too much worse
If its not in your oil then it's probably not the head gasket. How about your waterpump? Also check the coolant elbows make sure they aren't leaking. There's usually something else bad when the head gaskets go on these motors.
How white of a smoke is it? Is it blueish? Is really thick white like you can't see behind you? A little white smoke is normal especially in these colder months. How long ago did you do the lim gaskets? Did you put rtv on the corners of the block when you did them?
Knowing your car and motor would help a lot. If its a 3100 don't bother
To answer ypur original question, it really depends on your mechanical ability and experience. Personally I think they are not bad at all. Just pay attention to detail. Clean head bolt holes.

Changes the water pump prob 150 miles ago wen i did the water pump i did the lim gasket and the gasket between the intake and sc to never looked at the elbow at all though. I did put rtv on it its jst a little white i mean its not like its come out of there crazy but i also put some seafoam in the tank so idk if my fuel filter is cloged again or if its burning off the last bit of seafoam
so im guessing you have a gtp but what year? DETAILS let us help you.
head gaskets arent to bad just pay attention to detail make sure to clean all the mating surfaces really good with degreaser then a final wipedown with paint thinner and everything should be good!
I got a 1997 gtp
Head gaskets are just a bunch of bolts past the engine cover. Keep in mind that head and rocker bolts are TTY, therefore they should be replaced and not reused.
Guys..read his other post ... he has two dead cylinders.
I have seen a head gasket blow out between two cylinders and not effect coolant, oil or anything else. That was on a Ford though.
