K so I'm pretty sure my water pump just blew, there is coolant everywhere i can't seen to find any broken hoses or anything i filled the reservoir with water and ram the car to see if i could find where the leak was coming from but no luck. Any way to tell for sure if this was just my water pump that blew, or another problem having to do with my cooling system?

Might be coolant elbow that let go.

did you notice symptoms in the days before it went? My went a couple weeks ago. Starting a couple days earlier, i heard what sounded like bad bearings and had a belt chirp when accelerating hard. I guess it was partly seized and revving the engine slid the belt across the pulley. It had also been running hotter than usual but not quite in the red zone(once it went, it did overheat briefly until i found a safe place to park.

take the belt off and grab the w/p pulley, see if it has side to side play, if so its shot.

if your losing coolant fast. id think one of the coolant elbows blew out. you have 2 if your a 99 or newer car, the 2 nd one is hiding behind the water pump

see right above the power steering pump and behind the water pump that tube that turns in, this is a 98 so its a cast elbow, 99 and up has another plastic elbow there, as well as the one at the top of the pic.

The squeeling may be a wet belt. The coolant elbow may have had a small leak beforehand. My lower elbow was seeping just right for it to land on the belt and the belt slung coolant everywhere.

K so i just went out and looked again and moved a few things around and found the leak, right underneath the pulley

that would be the water pump. now take the belt off and see if the w/p pulley has play in it, if so you need a new pump for sure.

if your supercharged, you need a T55 bit to remove the lower sc idler pulley. and you need to un bolt the power steering pump as well.

this is the pump off, the p/s pump unbolted and the lower idler removed.

i also took the fuse box off and tied it off to the side for more room. if your overflow tank is right there remove that too.

and the only tips you should need is to loosen up the 4 small bolts on the w/p pulley before you take the belt off, or you will never get them off, same thing when you are done put the belt back on and tighten up the 4 bolts. and to clean and put thread sealant on the 4 long bolts for the water pump, as they enter the block, coolant will come out when you take the bolts out.

the power steering pump is bolted on with 2 bolts, in the 12 and 6 positions, there is a hole in the pulley, use a 3 inch extension and a socket.

that idler and the p/s pump need to come off to get the 4 long bolts off.
