Just wanted to stop in and say hi before i start asking alot of questions! the wife needed a new daily driver and while we out looking at all the hondas she had picked out we just couldnt agree on a car within our budget. well last lot of the day (bill estes) and there sat a 2008 Grand Prix GXP way over in the corner. After talking her into taking it for drive (she really had her heart set on a Accord)we both fell in love with it FAST!. the car is bright red bone stock with 31k on the clock we paid 15 grand for the car and besides the worn out bridgestones i wouold rate it mint condition! i have owned some grand prixs (89se and a 94se)in the past that i was really fond of so my history with the brand was enough for me to make the jump but it took more than that for the wife! she fell in love with it on the test drive when at the push of the throttle she was pushed back in the heated leathers passing hondas on the way back to dealer doing 90mph all while looking threw a HUD for the first time! the car is super fun to drive and handles well with whats rubber is left on the bridgestones. my only compliant right now is tap shift should be fun but in a 4 speed its NOT! I have a few mods in mind like tint, upgrade the moonson crap, trans cooler, res delete, cut outs etc.etc.etc so you fellows will be hearing alot more from me. ill post up a few pics after the rain stops and i shine her up!

Nice! Welcome. Definitely good choice over an Accord. :P

Great story lol. Glad you both enjoy the cars! I would like to drive a GXP, i can only assume my car is slightly slower, but i would love to have a V8 grand prix. Post some pics!

    Good choice

depends on the accord you get :P.. like for instance.. the 2010 and half coupe ( after they fixed the tranny problems) v6 with the 271 Hp.. pretty bada$$ if you ask me. my neighbor at my dads has one. i lovee it. but i also love pontiac.. and would choose the g6 GXP over it. cuz it gets about the same powerfrom my research. some might say just get a G8. but theres a bit of a price difference for a bigger engine and car..and yah :P...although it is RWD(:

Theres really nothing unique about the car besides it has all the options for that year and its a GXP..i take that back it does not have the navi unit just the 6 disc indash cd player. When i bought the car the dealer didnt have any key fobs for it so i had to go back to the dealer a week later to pick them and have them reprogrammed. After that the remote start would not work and i had no option in the dic to enable it. When i tried activate remote start it would say on the dic remote start disabled. after taking it back to the dealer i found out they had replaced a voltage sensor and they needed to reprogram the cars brain to tell it it had remote start...after they did that the option now appears in the dic and the remote start works fine

I do not have the stock navi unit but when tax time comes around i plan on getting a in dash navi/all in one radio unit im thinking kenwood or alpine. I also plan on keeping my steering wheel radio controls when i do that upgrade.. right now i have two kicker L7s i plan on hooking up and using the stock radio to control them..

I grounded mine to the rear seatbelts. ^_^ But yeah. If you have questions, do a little research then ask around. There's a few other GXP owners on here that can help. There's more info in the LS4 Performance section on ls1tech, also.

Hahaha. I've never had a problem with it. I do plan on doing a little rewiring under the hood though, so I might hit that at the same time.
