Hello!
I just acquired a mint condition (for the most part) 2002 Grand Prix GTP sedan to replace my aging winter beater. my intent and function for this car is to use as a winter vehicle. the salt use around these parts (Great Lakes) is absolutely horrendous, and as such I will NOT let it touch my summer car. I had a 2002 Grand Prix GT coupe back in '07 and loved it (coupe part aside, giant doors drove me nuts), and have missed it since I traded it in on my 2009 G8 GT.
the GTP has 145,000 miles on the odometer, zero rust (undersprayed with Krown Rust control annually since new) other than minor surface underneath (which I will sand/paint/respray come spring), an SLP closed CAI, Magnaflow catback, 3" downpipe (custom), Overkill PCM tune, and some apperance mods here and there. I'm pretty happy with it so far other than the cost of 91 octane here ($1.44/L, roughly $5.45/gal), but it and the G8 roughly use the same amount of cash for fuel demands so thats ok with me.
come spring as I noted, I'm going to sand and spray any surface rust I find on the underbody/etc., re-rustproof it (Rust Check), replace the headlamp/taillamp assemblies (seals broken, moisture and yellowing), NGK-TR55 plugs/wires, 3.5" pulley/re-tune, and maybe some other minor stuff here and there. I scanned the car when I first test drove it with my HPtuners standard, and it didn't really display any signs of knocking or anything out of the ordinary. it had a bevy of parts replaced recently including a transmission rebuild. I am strongly considering doing a projector retrofit on some new headlamp assemblies too for this thing, but free time and cash flow come summer will determine whether or not I follow through with that or not. lots of good information on these boards to read!
here are some pics of both it and the G8 for those curious (pics of the GTP not taken by me, taken from the for sale ad from the previous owner), click the links to view the pics in original size:
