My Grand Prix was purchased used with 48K. It has stood up to 60K worth of abuse, and I have judged that I am not buying any more cars on payment, ever. It may be paid off but there were months where I didn't think I was going to make it. It will be given a full refreshment, and eventually I will get a junkyard engine to rebuild by hand, a turbo, whatever I can find for it. This will go on to advertise my auto detailing business while having fun at the local racetrack.
My Monte Carlo was purchased new by my mother, and was the only possession I ever felt like she was proud of, being a thrifty working class woman (whose husband was making enough to where she could go buy a nice new car.) I inherited this when she passed on in August. I drove it for a bit in her honor, but it will be retired to weekend status as of today. This vehicle will be kept stock (unless the bulletproof 3800 blows up, then it's game on.) The only thing I think I'd need is tips on detailing the engine bay... you would think I'd know this, but I do not detail them, as I have concerns about liability issues. As this is a W-body that shares many mechanical components,
Looking forward to getting bashed on my n00b status. Is there a hater contingent on the GP forums?
