Not sure where to post a question or whether it will be welcomed. I was directed here from another forum I'm on looking for some great answers to questions about the 3.8 litre V-6. Unfortunately mine sits in an '89 Buick.
The Cam Sensor died long ago & has run OK since. Now the idle has gone to heck. It's almost impossible to keep it running. Starting form a dead stop nearly impossible, creep ahead feather gas etc.
But it only acts this way maybe 5% of the time. Rest is OK. I tried setting that screw @ the throttle body for higher idle (not meant for that?) & works except when it goes bad. Usually w/ a colder engine.
Has the electronic coil pack @ RF of block (no dist). Electrical EGR. Thought the EGR could be sticking open @ some times. It has 3 wires going to it, can unplugging them work to test it out? ie. just forcing EGR to stay closed.
