Has anyone actually tinted outside of rear window???

I have done a bit of research and I keep seeing a ton of people saying "Don't tint the outside of windows because its exposed to the elements DUH!"... but I have not seen a single video or evidence of someone having tried this. Seems to me like people are just repeating a consensus that has not been properly tested, and since its a *&$#! to remove third brake light for an 01 grand prix GT, which is required to properly tint interior of rear window -- why not tint the exterior of the window? What's the Big deal with tinting the exterior of the rear window??? What environmental factor is external tint exposed to that internal tint is not?

Scratches, water ... which is basically all it would take over time to remove the tint. Tint needs to be dry.
If you think removing the 3rd brake light is bad, maybe this helps put it in perspective:
Trim pop tool for C pillars ~3 min each side
Remove bottom of seat with hands ~1 min if you milk the job
Remove rear seat with (IIRC) 19mm and 10 mm nuts then lift up to disengage top clipped in piece ~5 min
Remove trim clips and slide rear deck out ~3 min
Around 10-15 minutes is all it should take to have it out. I've removed it on a lot of cars for various reasons (usually tint) and never regretted doing it. One thing to consider is in a lot of states it's technically illegal to tint over the brake light. I've always done it and never been hassled though.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
