Sooo I bought an L67 powered fiero that wasn't running supposedly because of a non working fuel pump. That was a real problem that I diagnosed and fixed. But it still wouldn't start and sounded funny turning over with air pushing back thru the intake. Did a compression test, one of the cylinders was 0, others were all less than 100psi. Used the same compression tester on my other supercharged 3800 and got 155psi. Pulled the valve cover and found that NONE of the rocker arms are moving at all..... Timing chain must've broken, haven't torn into it. Sooooo, the question is, it there ANY chance the motor is reusable? My understanding is that its more thank likely that a valve hit a piston which means new valves and pistons (interference motor) aka might as well get another used motor since i'm not an engine rebuilder, and thats $$$. Right? Or can I look at the pistons for impact marks and make sure the valves aren't bent and if that checks out, throw a double roller set on and carry on? Engine should have about 115,000 miles with fresh LIM and head gaskets done 6,000 miles ago. Previous owner says he didn't hear any thing weird when it died on him. The fuel pump just stopped running. Thanks in advance

Doesn't hurt taking the timing cover apart and checking out the damage to the timing chain, just takes time. Dont buy any parts until you have it disassembled and know exactly what you are dealing with.

if I remember right these engines are non-interference so valves and pistons should be alright if just the timing chain broke as far as the actually gears that connect to the chain idk what happens to those when they break but id assume they make them stronger. probably listen to quick silvers advice on that
