I had the same problem got a new fob at advance just changed the inner module to new fob case about 15 bucks
Quick & simple fix...Crazy glue small pieces of aluminum foil on the rubber key pad.
It's been working over a year for me.
Just bought New key fob on eBay $2, I'll see how that goes
Just realize you can't program the fob yourself. You can swap the board from your current fob into the new one and that should fix your issue if it is indeed the buttons being worn.
That's what I'm hoping the problem is
Okay, check this thing out. The original FOBs for my 2005 Grand Prix (bought with 5 miles on it) failed around 2010. I would press hard, wiggle back and forth, lift one leg and could get it to work for a little longer. Then one day both were just done. I was locking/unlocking the car with my key.
I shopped around for replacement options and stumbled onto these. http://www.keylessfix.com/shop/
I was skeptical, but decided for the price I would take a chance. Instant success! The first time I tried, I barely had to press the buttons. Everything worked. Cheaper than a full replacement, and no reprogramming. My FOBs are all scratched up and you can't see the little pictures on the buttons, but with the insert they still work today!
