Well, it's straight piped so it's definitely a hack job. But the only debate to be had is wether or not it leaks. So, does it leak?

A 3100 if that's what his 1990 has, do sound alright compared to a 3800. But the drone might get old.

Straight pipes sound terrible on our cars. Like ear splitting, keep tylenol in the car, piss everyone off around you terrible. Hope it works out for you but if it was me grab a muffler or resonator to stick in there. Start the car and feel for leaks around the clamps. If they leak run to the muffler shop and get it welded. No leaks the clamps are fine.

Exhaust clamps are a joke, weld everything! You asked.

Resonator would go just ahead of the "Y" if theres a cat in the stock position. But- IMO, the farther forward the better.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

WELD IT! I replace exhaust clamps all day on semis because they fail. few people weld there stuff and when they do they never have exhaust leaks hmmmm imagine that.

If you have a stick its a five speed manual which is a getrag which is worth more then it's weight in gold they are very rare! A lot of guys covet them and are sought after so much because the can be swapped into 97+ would like to see a ride thread started for your car

You could also look into swapping a f40 six speed from a 06-07 g6 into yours
