The throttle body....looks like any easy job....don't be fooled.
Disconnect the intake duct from the filter box to the TB....box end is a screw type clamp....and the TB end the hose just pushes on...I leveraged it abit with a screwdriver.......
you are now looking at the naked TB (pervert).....lol
On the forward side of the TB is a support bracket that goes from the TB to the engine block....you can't remove the TB without removing the bracket, as the bracket blocks the forward lower nut
Don't you just automotive engineers? I love the hollow sound their heads make when you beat their heads on concrete.....
Why did I say that?
That stupid bracket (TB support).....the lower bolt.....is behind the exhaust cross over pipe.....and dealing with exhaust always gives me a sense of dread .......soak all the hardware for the crossover in some kind of rust penetrant....and leave it sit for a while...20 minutes......soak it again.....
from that point I was able to undo the crossover with a 13mm socket and a 3/8 drive ratchet after removing the heatshield (2 nuts) adjacent to the EGR valve .....and then the stupid bracket ...2 10mm bolts...I loosened the 1 at the TB, and removed the lower 1....from there I disconnected the electrical plugs to the the TB, and then the 3 nuts holding the TB to the plenum.....off comes the TB.....
from there you can have a good look at the plenum....the top of my plenum (UIM)was melted by the exhaust from the EGR standpipe in the bottom of the plenum
