Changing tune for the winter is not necesary. Going from E85 to E70 requires about 6-7% less fuel, our PCM's can easily compensate for more than 15% in either direction. That is why you can run E30-50ish Without a tune on stock injectors if you wish.

would buying a "canned" tune for e85 be okay if on just a 3.4 set up? And then drop pulley sizes accordingly? Other than that all you'd have to get injectors right?

Yes that would be fine, just make sure the canned tune is for the size of injectors you are getting.

But all the Facebook fags says that you need a tune no matter what mods you are doing. They said I was an idiot for telling some dude putting a cold air intake and a 3.6 pulley on his car that he didn't need a tune.......

I'm running a 40% ethanol blend right now. I just switched over. after reading this, I realize I can richen the afr up some more. I was going for an 11.5 afr, but since I'm running 40% ethanol, can/should I go richer, and how much? also, the only thing I have changed in the tune is the maf table, because the E40 runs a lot leaner. one thing I noticed today when I was crunching the numbers to get the E40 is that since the gas pump has E70, if I mix equal parts of E70 with E10, it will make E40, so getting the right mixture is easy.

    I also have 42.5lb injectors

I just switched over to E85 last week. Had it dyno tuned by ZZP. Good power but I still need to do some cold temp starting fine tuning.

    Timing Tables:
    1) MAKE SURE you zero out the AFR Correction Spark Table. Doing this prevents the car from adding 8* of additional timing at all times when running E85. I learned this the hard way through experimentation...
I am seeing 8 degrees higher than the Base timing table. I don't see an AFR Correction Spark table. Where can I find this in DHP?

    Thanks,
    Nick

I am not as familiar with DHP. Mind taking a quick snap-shot of all that you can change in the timing tables? (whichever drop down menus you have around timing). Should be able to help you from there, or someone else can also chime in.

what you mean 8 over? in the good fuel spark folder, the bottom rows are 10's. with dhp that 10 ends up being 15 in real life on a scanner. so what ever that value is figure its 5 higher really

like mine are set to 7's thats 13.5 for me.

and i dont recommend zeroing out that folder, so im not telling you where it is lol you can lean it out or add more fuel to it, but id not zero it.

I gotcha. Well based on my reading that tables not accessible in dhp anyway. So I guess I'll drop all my WOT timing by 8 in the good fuel table. It seems like a ghetto solution, but whatever

its in the pe folder, time vs rpm. on corn you'd likely want to make it richer some.

on your scan whats your wot timing? or email me your bin so i can see what you set it to if your not sure what you did.

with hpt the value you see in the file is the actual timing, but not in dhp. its way different.

For the record, I couldnt find the AFR Spark table in PowrTuners anywhere, but I just opened Tiny Tuners for a different reason and it's right there in the Base Timing section under Spark. If anyones ever wondering
