That diffusing lens is what makes them perfect for gauges, along with the impressive lumen output

So I had a couple more of the LEDs that I got from ebay go out on me. The link is on the first page. I ended up swapping in the Diode Dynamics HP3 cool white LEDs into the cluster. This is how they look.
They don't have the bluish white appearance like the one's I previously had. See the review here for Diode Dynamics response.

Here is how they look in the cluster.
For Comparison Purposes

I'm curious can you use the H5's on the cluster IE 5 bulbs being they take more wattage will it short something out? I like the H3's the definitely look white without blue tint BUT I'd love for them to be a little brighter..
I bought them when they had their 20% off sale and I had another discount code for free shipping so not bad for the price. The ebay one's I originally had kept going out. I just hope the Diode Dynamics last longer than the ebay ones.
You could try the samsung one's. Not sure how good they are.

Those look really good. Might have to get me some.
I had some eBay 194's (10 for $10) in my tail lights. They would last about a month and made me wonder if I had wiring issues. After burning through them, I got some SMD2 bulbs from DD back in August, and they are still going strong. I will no longer by the cheap-o led's.
Guz, I recall there being 8 lights in the cluster. Is this correct?
There are 5 194's for the actual gauges and 3 194's for the turn signal and high beam indicators (these are optional).
So far I have had good luck with Diode Dynamics. I had some SMD2's in the rear courtesy lights and those lasted 2 years as well as the footwell leds from them.
Added your photo to my post on the first page for reference. Thanks.
Those diode dynamics look a lot brighter!! I may swap out my ebay LEDs to those...
Well I have eBay LEDs also and you're saying they are brighter and my eBay ones keep crapping out BUT sadly right now I don't have 40$ to spend on LEDs but I want to get them eventually for sure
Unfortunately Diode Dynamics only has a couple good sales throughout the year. Black Friday is one of them. That is when I got these. 20% off was too good to pass up. Hopefully they can have more sales throughout the year. Even a 10% off once in awhile would be nice.
using LED`s in the cluster sure makes it a bit brighter but is there a way to get rid of the red foil or backing ? i seen some black backings online that are supposed to make it look blue are they any good ? other then that i changed out every possible bulb to led`s besides the head lights and rear lights i really like the brightness of them
There's ways to get rid of it I heard someone say scratching it of from the inside of course.. but I never tried it I like red so it's not a big deal to me but yea I know 1 guy on Facebook who does clusters, DICs and remote factory LED bulbs to any color you want.. the rest of the like switches etc are a ***** to do hence why I figure just stick with a red theme lol

I have my Signal indicators in Blue LEDs and the highbeam i git a superwhite led in which make it look light blue , I'm not a fan of the read gauges is prefer blue or white and yeah I do have ok bulbs switched to leds already but I never tried opening the cluster cause Im scared to brake it , it seems like those plastic clips that are now probably all dried and aged would brake easy
I got some of the DD HP3 bulbs months ago, and finally got around to installing them.....
Very happy with the outcome, except now my "dimly lit" signal indicators are brighter.....
And a picture with the signal on showing how "dim" the indicators are.....
