VI is 6 and III is 3, VI I think technically means "Viscosity Improved" but idk.
Either one is fine, VI is gonna be more expensive.

Haha yeah 6 not 4. Good ol' roman numerals. So I had a shop change my tranny fluid a while back (idk why) but they use some universal crap which makes me mad that I ever had them do it but is it ok for the dex 3 to mix with that?
Well I just made a bonehead move. Snapped the head off bolt because Im an idiot and had the socket going the wrong direction....I know theyre 8mm but whats the length? Can I pick a new bolt up at Lowes or something or do I need to order online?
Which bolt? On the trans pan?

Take out a good one and run to a hardware store and the guy should be able to help you match threads and length and find the right replacement bolt you need. Thats what I just did when I bent my tstat bolt. Did you get the old one of the trans already?

If the head snapped clean off it should, hard part is going to be getting the broken part out of the trans

Yeah it snapped clean off. So the pan should still slide right off...so then I guess Ill just have to twist out the shaft of the bolt with pliers or something. Not just pull it out but twist it.
Yeah pretty much, if threads are still showing. Vise grips should work good to grab it to thread it out.

They should, ask someone to help match the threads and stuff to a good bolt. Also make sure the head on the new bolt isn't too big and hits things (I cant remember if it a tight area or not.

oh, snap!!! i had too. take a good bolt with you find a nut that fits it, you now know the threads size. then find that threaded bolt thats close in length.
if the old one is flush to the tranny, take a dremel and cut a slot on the end of the broken bolt, then use a flat head screw driver to remove it. or drill and use a extractor.
ive seen stuff like that, but this is a thin ass bolt thread. a punch works well too.
a thin 1 mm wide metal cutting disk on a angle grinder also works, but you dont want to hit the tranny gasket area. or as little as possible.
If the pan is full yeah, hold it up remove the last bolts and carefully drain it into your drain pan. Or pull a me and drop it on your face.
